Wow, our far right forum fruits are getting desperate. One suggests; "The BububuBiden today is a shell of himself and anyone should be alarmed at electing a dementia victim". By default he's suggesting its better to vote for Trump, a total nincompoop who at times is incoherent, and lacking any degree of cognisance. If Daffy Duck was The Donald's opponent then it would be a close call? Daffy would win, narrowly.
Jose', yep spot on, "African Americans do not support Kamila Harris", and just as many people of colour are clambering to join the KKK. Pull the other leg! Posted by Paul1405, Wednesday, 19 August 2020 2:27:02 PM

Optimism Biden has it in the bag can still be dashed.
UNFORTUNATELY, and unlike Australia, the US has no nationwide apolitical Electoral Commission to prevent low life Trump from cheating. Trump can bribe and threaten the vulnerable 50 State electoral administrations and key Congressman into a rigged election. This is recalling Trump has the morals of a mafioso. Recall Russian oligarchs+Putin laundering money by buying up Trump properties and never forget Trump's casino kingpin history. Trump can again collect dirt on his opponents. Russian and Wikileaks HACKING that collected dirt in 2016 is now being directed at Biden, Harris and Swing/Battlegound/Toss Up Districts/Congressman. So even if Biden is 7.6% ahead in the polls - see http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2020/president/us/general_election_trump_vs_biden-6247.html Trump may only need to win a majority of "Toss Up" States/Districts/Electoral Votes - colored Brown here http://www.270towin.com/ - to win on November 4th (Australian time). I'm still hoping for a miracle that somehow
Trump will lose. I know it's probably futile. But I like to think that somehow sanity will prevail - and justice will be served. Posted by Foxy, Wednesday, 19 August 2020 4:00:06 PM

Dear Foxy,
Take heart, there is a multitude of factors one way or the other. I don't see Trump taking any sort of national responsibility for combatting the virus - he'll leave it up to the States (whatever happened to Truman's "The Buck Stops Here" sign ?). So the daily numbers of deaths will hover around a thousand, and the total number will keep rising at around thirty thousand a month, Or around eighty thousand between now and Nov 4th (our time). Many Republican congresspeople are getting edgy about their chances of re-election, and might jump whichever way the wind blows. Do you really think that Trump will do anything positive, or constructive between now and Nov 4th ? Isn't he more likely to try all manner of dirty tricks, denying people the vote in any way he can, bribing congressional districts with funds if .... , etc. ? It seems as if the States are taking it upon themselves to encourage masks, social distancing, etc., and tighter lock-downs, in spite of Trump and his disinfectant cures. The US will get through all this, but no thanks to the no-tricks show-pony. Joe Posted by loudmouth2, Wednesday, 19 August 2020 4:24:53 PM

Dear Joe,
Of course you're right. The man will do whatever it takes to win. Things will get nasty - things will get worse. And what scares me the most is that the man will get re-elected. As I said - all I can do is pray for a miracle. Or for the fact that Americans have not been totally Trumpified. That there are decent people left on both sides of the divide. Thank you for the link and it should not come as
any surprise as to why some African Americans
would be a bit wary of the former prosecutors
strong anti-crime stance in California. We need
to only look at the context of past crime waves
that occurred there to understand her stance.
Even though she was not personally responsible
for the passing of the laws.
Her record on crime is a totally responsible one
and as I said - should be taken in context.
The following link from the Los Angeles Times
