One has to keep in mind that the President is the CEO of America & Co.

He is selected to be the one most capable of keeping the business intact irrespective of whether or not he is an oddball. Which I think is the common opinion on Trump.

The polls are showing Biden will win the popular vote in a landslide.

I doubt if Trump will be returned to office even if he garners the popular vote. I reckon the Electoral College will give him his marching orders.

Individual,

You and I are poles apart in our realities.

Gough Whitlam was PM for a relatively brief 3 years.
But his legacy is extensive.

The green and yellow Medicare card in your wallet is
Thanks to him.

He introduced Medibank, the ancestor to Medicare as
Australia's first National Health Insurance System.
It began operating on July 1 1975.

He abolished university fees from January 1 1974.
Many prominent Australians trace their opportunities and
success back to free university education. This policy
allowed "mature-age-students" getting degrees in 1970s.

A new approach was taken to Indigenous owners of land in
Australia. Indigenous land rights were looked into and
the Department of Aboriginal Affairs was established. In
1975 Whitlam handed Gurindji people of Wattie Creek in NT
title deeds to part of their traditional lands.

In 1973 the Australian embassy was re-opened in Beijing
and Whitlam visited China.

The National Anthem was changed to - " Advance Australia
Fair", in 1974. He brought in sewage to the suburbs.
Federal grants financed highways linking state capitals.
Abolished conscription. He supported the Arts. Established
the Australian Council for the Arts. The National Gallery
in Canberra - first purchases of art. Jackson Pollock's
"Blue Poles" for 1.3 million dollars. It was criticized
at the time. Today the painting is worth - $100 million.

He introduced - no fault divorces in 1975. The Racial
Discrimination Act in 1975 - became law.
His government stopped the drilling for oil in the Great
Barrier Reef and introduced the environment Protection
legislation and Australian National Parks and Wildlife
Service in 1974.

And the list goes on.

Dog's breakfast indeed!

Well it's certainly true that Biden is well informed on all the big issues and is easily able to articulate his position....

http://twitter.com/mattmargolis/status/1291176732960096256

Sadly (probably correctly) the DNC thinks he's the best man for the job. Maybe he can get elected on the basis that no one knows what the hell his position on the issues is and they each just fill in the gaps - the oh so many gaps.

Biden winning depends on two things:

1. That he avoids the presidential debates
2. That the Democrats 'create' enough votes via vote harvesting and mail-in voting to get him over the line.

Of course, he'll get all the help he needs from China, Iran and Nth Korea who are desperate that he wins. Oh and the alphabet media will provide him with all the cover he needs. They are already offering up excuses for him to skip the debates.

The pollsters and the pundits cover elections as if
they're horse races but history tells us voters are
not fooled by the tricks of the campaign.

Voters vote pragmatically according to how well the
party holding the White House has governed the
country.

The country is in awful shape with COVID-19 hot spots
and the president's buffoonish response to the crisis
remains unchanged.

Trump's position in the polling averages is not great.
There's also bad news all around for the US economy.
History tells us this could be highly damaging to
Trumps re-election chances.

Also Joe Biden's choice of vice-president may just make
all the difference.

Interesting times ahead.

Old Joe would be flat out managing a family barbeque.
I'm willing to bet he'd stuff that up.

Come on Foxy, they reelected Obama, which shows just how stupid yanks can be.

It won't effect us much, but if Biden wins, our grand kids are going to get a really rough ride.
