Paul,

That's strange, I've always thought that you were closely associated with a "Bureau for Pure Thought" - The Bureaus function would be to cleans society of improper immoral thinking, arranging book burning's, prosecuting undesirables, the usual stuff.

i.e. in order to set a perfect society in place, a new Utopia, but one which avoided all of the many problems of similar previous Utopias, i.e. experiments with socialism, one absolutely needs a "Bureau for Pure Thought", a.k.a. the security police, an essential element in any socialist society, given the vast numbers of counter-revolutionaries. Every revolution must have its executioners.

Paul 1405.

Yep, great idea. The infrastructure for the "bureau of faith and justice and the betterment of society", is already in place in Australia; Islam.

Cleansing the media would naturally be a high priority, but close behind would be the "department of identification and corrections"
One of its fundamental roles would be to data- base known homosexuals, and contain the social contaminate of refugee status, given to Iranian homosexuals, by rounding them up into holding camps, in preparation for deportation back to Iran.
And a few more suggestions in cleaning-up Australia if your not bored.

It is true that the earth is warming and has been for the last 300 years.

To Paraphrase Bill Clinton; IT IS THE SUN STUPID !

It has been known for some time that the sun has a cycle that warms
and cools the earth. In recent times the maths that drives the cycle
has been determined.
It has been going on for thousands of years and has absolutely nothing
to do with carbon dioxide. That carbon dioxide was tied to the warming
was due to the omission of clouds from the original calculations.

The original hypothesis was made by the Norwegian scientist Mark Svenmark.
The Turku & Kobe Uni scientists have tied it all together with the
sun's natural cycle, sunspots, cosmic rays, clouds and the Milankovich
cycles of earths elliptical orbit of the sun and the precession of
the earth poles.

It is quite a thing to get your head around but it is cycles on cycles.
It is quite complex, and so to blame CO2 is an easy out.
However CO2 does not explain history.
Around 200BC there should have been a warm period and some glacier
findings are confirming that.
Around 300 400 ad the Roman warming time occurred, and grapes were
grown in the UK.
In 900 to 1100 the Vikings settled in Greenland.
It is known as the Medieval warm period. You may have heard of it.
300 approx years later they had to abandon Greenland as it was too cold.
In the 18th century it was cold in Europe and grapes were not grown in the UK.
There were ice festivals on the Thames each year with skating.
Since the 1700s to 1800s it has been getting warmer, peaking around
the 1990s.
So if history is any guide it will get cooler for the next 300 years.

Now this hypothesis upsets a lot of committed people and some anger
has been shown, but there it is and those who propose CO2 as the cause
have to explain the history.
These links will give you a start. There is a lot more.

Bazz,

As for the Viking warming period in Greenland:

I have it on very good authority that archaeologists recently tried to excavate graves in an abandoned village in Greenland but couldn't break through the permafrost encasing them.

And a fleet of American fighters, intended for the UK against fascism in 1944, crash-landed in Greenland but couldn't take off again. A recent attempt to recover and restore them was hampered by tens of metres of ice which has since formed over them.

Cycles: very roughly every millenium - the Minoan period, 1500-1100 BC, across the Roman period, 200 BC - 400 AD, the early medieval period., 1000-1400 AD. Coincidentally, they tend to coincide with healthy economic and social growth, often a flowering of culture as well.

The great historian Fernand Braudel casually remarked (in his definitive 3 vol. history of Medieval Europe 1200-1700) that, when smoking became popular in Europe, English peasant farmers began growing tobacco. I wonder if you could grow tobacco in the UK these days. Over the next four weeks, I suppose most pommies will be in need of it.

So yes, of course, there is some global warming, maybe a degree in temperature rise, and sea-level rise of two inches, in the last century. Strange, the temperature here has risen by maybe ten degrees since 7 a.m. today. And tides have gone up and down by a metre twice in the last day ! What's going on ?!

Do many people WANT Apocalypse ? The end of days ? Are some 'leftists' secretly religious, yearning for Armageddon ? But a socialist one, of course ?

Don't mention Brian's Sandal.

Of course these fires are a new thing, caused bu CO2,
or perhaps they are not.

By a Staff Correspondent
TOWNSVILLE, Sunday July 28 1946. — Fires
are burning to-night in an almost
unbroken chain from the edge of
Brisbane to Townsville, 800 miles
distant.
The coastal fires provide air
travellers with a graphic picture
of parched Queensland.
Deeper inland, even greater
areas of dry brush and grass are
burning or waiting, like tinder, for
a careless match or spark.
From Rockhampton to Gor-
donvale, farmers are burning off.
Forestry officers in other
areas are burning fire breaks.
Long Smoke Trails
Columns of smoke loom from
hills above some coastal towns, In
the hills north and south of Mac-
kay to-night smoke from two
separate groups of fires stretched
in trails for many miles.
South of Maryborough there is
another group of fires. From some
of these the smoke was rising yes-
terday afternoon to a height of
3000ft.

I surely can't be the only one sick of lying bull dust from the Greens & their useful idiots.

Joe said; Coincidentally, they tend to coincide with healthy economic

Well I guess that is to be expected just as now the earth is greening
crop yields ww are high etc, and co2 levels are increasing. Glasshouses?
It also explains why the temperature rises before the co2 rises.
It all seems to fit together quite well.
The cycle period is about 600 years, but I imagine that varies with
the sunspots cycle timing which is 11 years & the sun's cycle.
These cycles are all in between the major ice ages as 600 years is
just a short pause in that time scale.
The Warming activists have a hard time accepting that there might be
another explanation, but if I was betting on it I would bet on Svenmark.
