The house that we live in is about 160 years old and is tinder dry and would go off like a bomb if fire got to it.
It is built of box slabs, fortunately the designer/builder built it without gutters and the eaves are sealed.

Rain water falls straight down into stone drains (cemented around the 1920s) and flows into underground tanks (cisterns); the water is unfit for drinking but is kept for fire control.

In the NSW news yesterday, reported all day today,* 19 year old member of local fire brigade has been charged with starting, then fighting, about nine fires*
Further older man refused bail, after admitting to stating about seven, and telling police he likes starting fires!*
Drove that five plus hour drive yesterday back today
Passed one of our states biggest not yet controlled fires
Police are looking for KNOWN person who along with a farmer mate burnt of to protect his farm
Unfortunately one of them posted photos on social media
