Are you suggesting that, in addition to the fires that got started by faulty power lines and lightning strikes, that some were deliberately lit ? I wonder what proportion that leaves to 'climate change' ?
Many years ago, R. L. Heathcote wrote extensively about droughts in Australia, for example:

It seems that bush-fires are a combination of a year or more of good rains taken up by the vegetation, followed by drought or at least a lengthy dry period drying it out. Perhaps any such situation, especially in national parks, is aggravated by the neglect of cool burns, burning off in the cooler seasons. So a big thank you to the bureaucrats responsible.
