OP, "Following another attack by Abbott on Malcolm Turnbull’s leadership.."

That filter, that it is all about leadership, is one of the common filters employed by activist and media hack alike to sensationalise and to dumb-down an audience that very often already has a short attention span.

I wonder though how many would seek more, some wheat amongst the chaff, even it it was available? Labor's 'Get Up' wouldn't, there is the Abbott Bogeyman to blame and thrash. But then any analysis from the other side is avoided too, to maintain the united front demanded by the 24 hr news cycle. Both sides are in the trenches, hurling epithets at each other, while the Greens act as Court Jester (well, the complete fool part anyhow). That is the nature of 2017 politics.

Whether one might agree or disagree with Abbott's views, it is still worth digging a little deeper,
Sunday Roundtable
Following Tony Abbott's speech proposing a manifesto to bring conservatives back into the fold we ask, is this is the way forward for the Liberal Party?"

It is spoken and short.

Albie,

Abbott will never get back the leadership. The 54 backstabbers will never admit that they have made a terrible mistake with Turnbull.

I read a quote a couple of days ago from someone about someone other than Abbott; it went: 'They treated him so badly that they could never forgive him for it', or words to that effect.

Can you really imagine arrogant people like Pyne etc admitting they were wrong?

No. Abbott will never lead again, and he doesn't really deserve to, given his backdown on 18c. He can stay in, crossing the floor at every sensible opportunity and continue doing what he is doing. Or, he can get out altogether so that Team Turnbull loses government sooner rather than later.

With a terrible plunge in the polls (45% v 55%). Turnbull came out blazing and raging yesterday. Malcolm did not take aim at the traditional foe, Labor and its leader Bill Shorten, but rather fired off a direct salvo at Tony Abbott. Wow! Turnbull, described Abbott's attack of last week as calculated and personal, orchestrated to destabilize his leadership by driving down the polls, and it certainly worked!

How much time is Turnbull spending fighting the forces of "Abbottism" within, and how much time actually running the country, TIME TO CALL AN ELECTION, and have Labor clean up the mess these clowns are making.

It is getting so crowded on the extreme right of the sinking ship, and with only one life jacket, who's going to be thrown overboard first? The Mad Monk, The Lovely Pauline, or maybe it will be Corny Banana or even that hay seed Barnyard himself.
