Talk about 'Gen Y'. I had one young girl come in to pay 3 parking fines, she got slugged 3 days in a row. She parked in the same spot each day. Wow! Butch, I might agree with you, a sliding scale. On day four I would suggest the penalty could be, take away her mobile phone for a week, now that would hurt! I get them all the time, people with a stack of fines, many muttering profanities as to how badly done by they have been, some are obviously incapable of learning. I understand some 'suits' that spend their working day in Sydney's CBD sipping latte's and talking guff on their mobiles, find it cheaper to pay a parking fine for the day, than pay a parking fee. True.

Indi,
At one time it was not uncommon for people to use the same fine day after day. Just return to the same spot and put yesterdays parking ticket, which came in a window faced brown envelope back under the wiper blade. The other big con is people who get a disabled sticker for "mum" (who is disabled) and then use it themselves. I live in Inner Sydney, car parking is a big issue, one very common resident gripe is "out of towners" driving from home, parking in the little bit of all day free parking in residential streets that still exists and then busing it to the CBD. To combat a lot of that, Councils put up a time limit signs, say 2 hour parking and then issue the residents with an exemption sticker. Its funny that happened in one street but before the Council could issue the exemption stickers the signs went up, and about 10 locals got booked. Our councilor on Sydney for there got inundated with calls from angry locals, she eventually got them quashed, but it took time. Posted by Paul1405, Sunday, 4 May 2014 8:34:28 AM

Paul1405,
As I said what does that tell you ? Tell you about the mentality of the people ? Now think a step further, these people have to vote. Now how do you think such selfish morons vote ? You don't even need one guess for that when you're dealing with the others owe me a living from cradle to grave brigade. Posted by individual, Sunday, 4 May 2014 11:27:15 AM

SHAME, SHAME, SHAME
Read the below statement and weep --or perhaps laugh till you cry. <<I live in Inner Sydney, car parking is a big issue, one very common resident gripe is "out of towners" driving from home, parking in the little bit of all day free parking in residential streets that still exists and then busing it to the CBD.>> This is from a CARING and SHARING Green! Funny how when it hits home they suddenly start thinking like those "redneck" "racist" 'xenophobes" they lampoon! Posted by SPQR, Sunday, 4 May 2014 1:05:59 PM
