Most of us will have to use Public Toilets at some stage and I'm sure that all OLOs wash their hands before leaving the facilities.
Not everyone is as fastidious as us and the door handle that one has to grasp to get out of most Public Toilets may well be contaminated by unwashed hands.

Why are the doors on such places nearly always inwards opening so that one must pull them to get out?

Is Mise (and Indi), I agree that fines should be means tested. At least, anything larger than a parking fine should be.

Other countries have successfully implemented this. So it should also apply in Australia.

It doesn’t have to be perfect. Just a rough idea of a person’s financial wherewithal would be sufficient for the relevant authority to declare what the fine should be.

A percentage of income, or something a bit more detailed including assets, bank accounts, etc, would be a good basis.

And if anyone doesn’t think it is fair, there is always the court option.
