How do you always manage to get things so desperately wrong ? No-one's against education, we desperately need education. The problem is how can we change from indoctrination to education ?
Because you're so indoctrinated you're incapable of understanding how people who can think for themselves perceive the World.
You don't need education for intelligence & you don't need intelligence for indoctrination !

What we want is a return to what we had 60 or 70 years ago.

In the 50s a 15 year old kid, with just his intermediate certificate, from 3 years of high school could successfully undertake an electrical apprenticeship, with no trouble with the math involved. Today a friend of ours, ex high school teacher makes a good living running remedial math courses.

He started with university kids who's math was no where up to the required standard to undertake scientific & engineering courses, but was then asked to do the same for kids doing trade courses at a couple of TAFE colleges. He loves it, as he reckons he now has pupils who all really want to learn what he is teaching.

The big difference here is the kids at TAFE today are graduates of year 12, 17 year old kids with 5 years of high school. Many of these have a bit of paper informing the world that they were VHA, very high achievers, in math & physics in that 5Th year. Many of these have no chance of even understanding the math involved in not just electrical but many construction courses.

These school courses have been dumbed down by the women's libbers running primary & secondary education today so average girls could compete with the brighter blokes who usually were the ones doing such courses. I was amazed to find these VHA achievers in math C courses had not even touched calculus or coordinate geometry.

So Paul, it in not the right who hate education, we would just like it done as it was in the good old days, when it meant something.

Hassy's back in his spatts and straw hat, not that he's ever been out of it. The bubble brain is just having a spray at the despised three. We have to accept the reality of the US President's
disordered personality and therefore it's not surprising
that some here on OLO who support him display the
same symptoms of unstability, obsession, and unhealthy
patterns of thinking, functioning, and behaving.
This disorder manifessts itself in multiple ways -
from bullying and trying to silence those who could
expose them and whose views and opinions disagree with
their own.

I personally enjoy inter-acting with Hassie and Indy.
I respect their opinions even though I don't agree with
some of them. However I won't mention any other names
because their behaviour speaks for itself and it's
symptomatic of deeper issues - which we're not qualified
to deal with, so best to avoid, stay away from, and
subsequently ignore.
