The teachers union is saying teachers may refuse to go back to work.

Well it is time to give the teachers a couple of choices.
1/ Go to work when directed, or,

2/ Be dismissed with out any redundancy.

I don't know who the hell they think they are, but it is not their prerogative to chose if they will work or not. They have the right of course to resign if they think they are too important to do their share in the current difficulty, but they have no right to refuse offered employment, & expect to continue to receive pay for what they are not doing.

There are hundreds of thousands who would love the chance to be working, & getting paid, & with the continual falling standards of our kids education, most of them would have little difficulty doing at least as good a job as all too many teachers.

Yes time to tell teachers, go to work when told, or get the hell out.

The SA teachers' union has certainly been put in its place by both the government and the opposition after they insulted our Chief Medical Officer in an advertisement. The union leader has suddenly decided that she 'didn't know' about the release, and has been forced to apologise.

These Leftist activists, the sort of people who hypocritically tell everyone else to 'believe the science' on everything else including climate change, and accepting as gospel allegations of historic sexual abuse, have rightly been accused by the media of 'denying the science' on the safety of sending children back to school.

We shouldn't hold teachers to account for the lunancy of communist/fascist teachers unions who are losing members just like other irrelevant and autocratic unions. Maybe it's the preponderance of female union leaders that is the problem, trying to make tough 'guys' of themselves. Apart from one standout PM in the UK, female leaders haven't been able to cut the mustard anywhere. Perhaps in this case, age-old cattiness against our female CMO had something to do with it.

Dear Hasbeen,

What a pathetic attitude. These people are dedicated educators who shouldn't have to put their lives on the line needlessly just to satisfy your twisted sense of obligation. Speaking to a teacher recently who teaches year 12 he had worked with his students remotely right through Easter when he didn't have to. He has set up his teaching to accommodate the new regime and the kids have adapted brilliantly. He has an elderly parent bungaloed at home. Why should he have to put them at risk to return to an environment which doesn't provide proper PP gear nor testing of students.

At a school near us a physics teacher is in his 70s. Why should he have to resign to fulfill your mandate?

High Schools are most definitely petri dishes. With winter approaching the risks will likely elevate. Perhaps there should be danger money paid out if teachers are forced back into classrooms without adequate safeguards in place.

Hasbeen,

You are spot on again you great big chocolate smarty!

Let's just bring in millions of Chinese teachers to replace them. That'll teach the teachers! In fact that can be our motto Hasbeen: 'TEACH THE TEACHERS!'

You're amazing Hasbeen. i just don't know how you come up with these ideas.

Steele,

Not only High Schools; my first wife was an Infants teacher and we caught most of whatever was going around, thankfully we avoided head lice.
