Dan Tehan lampooned Daniel Andrews on The Insiders this morning for not opening Victorian schools as directed by Soot 'Beam up me Scotty' Morrison and ended up with egg all over his face an hour later when the Victorian Health Minister announced on TV that a school was to be closed after one of its teachers tested positive for the Wuhan bat soup virus.

You people might do well to remember the reason Gladys Berejiklian gave to Sco-Mutt for not insisting schools open on a full time basis at the drop of a hat; that being that the state education department has a duty of care to teachers, and is responsible to provide a "safe work environment" for them to ply their trade.

When asked if the federal government was prepared to foot the bill for any future legal action the state government the answer wasn't an emphatic "yes" the answer was a political "the chief medical officer has said that schools are safe".

Beg to differ, private schools were closed but public schools have been manned each and every day outside school holidays. My daughter was at school conducting online lessons from the classroom, then she would come home at approximately 6pm, and conduct additional after hours classes for children in their senior years in preparation for their HSC until midnight on most nights.
