Just bloody listen to yourself mate. What you are basically saying is that the rider was such a mindless automaton that it didn't matter what the circumstance he was going to pull a hard left and crash through that gate regardless if there were children or anyone in the road. Therefore anyone who got in his path was at fault.
Now I don't know what the lady had in mind when she went to close the gate. Was it to prevent others entering and endangering lives in the same manner? Possibly. Or was it to contain the idiot for the police to deal with?
But one thing is pretty clear, when the tosser saw the gate being closed he likely panicked. His speed and direction on that last gallop obviously had him thinking of continuing his 'jaunt' but then seeing the gate being closed he quickly became scared as most of these cowards do and violently changed direction before crashing through the gate and injuring the woman. All he cared about was bolting and not facing the consequences of his actions. I think he should have been charged with leaving the scene of an accident. Most people with any semblance of decency and humanity would have stopped and checked on the condition of the person they had knocked so violently to the ground. But not him. He just intent on scarpering.
This is the kind of person you want to not only defend but champion. How utterly sad and pathetic is that.
