GM you said "I will remind you once again that the Kingdom of God can only be found within you." Are you a Nicolaite, a sect of early Christianity who held such a belief. This belief excluded the need for the Church and the Church hierarchy and was condemned as heresy and you know what happened to heretics.
It is a fact early Christianity has as many as 100 different sects all with different biblical interpretations and beliefs, some very way out. Today there are as many as 3000 such sects, some with very way out beliefs. Unlike the early ones who were generally persecuted by the mainstream church hierarchy, today's way out mob of Christians are mostly tolerated, no more burning at the stake stuff.
Belly, you can't call Runner a non christian until you find out which one of the 3000 sects he is a member of, and what they believe. Way out hateful beliefs is not in itself an exclusion from Christianity, it may not be mainstream, but its not an exclusion.

My experience with the spirit of God is personal and not related to the words of the past.
I know very little about this kind of history bordering on nothing.
What comes to me comes from inside not from outside.
I have certainly never read or practised any a religion but my own during my life time.
Many years ago in response to a completion in the woman's weekly magazine I wrote a short story.
The topic of the story was simple it was to be about a woman.
I sat down and wrote What came to me.
At the time the story was about Mary the mother of Jesus. What was written just emerged. Eventually as I sat back and re-read the story many times I changed its name to the Gospel According to Patrick which I have mentioned before as it seemed more appropriate to the words that were written.
As I think about the responses here I am not surprised that it has been hi hacked .
It seems that it would have been much better received if I had utilised the name the devils advocate.
I know and understand it is a strange and unusual story but it only reflects who and what I am.
If everyone has the ability to get rid of their demons and it took my nearly my whole life to do this. How I found myself getting rid of them came when my whole being was encompassed in love. No more demons peace has come to me .

The story ends with the statement
You make war in the name of God
For a principal that doesn't exist.
If I had been here 6000 years ago, 4000 years ago 2000 years ago
my spirit has returned to observe the outcome I would burn you all in hell.
The human race definitely requires a lesson in what's right or wrong.
The killing of our people and our planet is all the evidence that is needed.
There is only one God and it is inside you.

Ok, I give in.

Obviously, the subject matter (Australia as a neutral country) was after all just a storefront for the usual suspects to parade their piety.

So I'll just sit back and snipe.

Here's Gods Messenger, leading with his chin.

>>If you might recall the first commandment was THOU SHALT NOT KILL<<

No siree Bob. That was not the first commandment.

The first four commandments were all about obedience to the self-proclaimed deity, introduced with the bald assertion "I am the Lord thy God", and moving on from there. The first four instructions are designed to shore up this stance by forbidding that any attention be paid competing Supreme Beings. "You shall not bow down to them or serve them, for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children to the third and the fourth generation of those who hate me"

Hmmmm. Simply oozing with love, eh.

But as a go-to-market model, faultless.

So I'm afraid that "thou shalt not kill" comes in more as an afterthought, only making the charts at number six in the Septuagint. I guess that once you have established the critical look-at-me position, actually deciding what should be banned is less relevant. Which is why it struggles to complete the full ten, having to pad it out with a bunch of thou shalt not covets.

Intriguingly, in Philo of Alexandria's translation, the prohibition of adultery precedes that of murder. One can only speculate why he would regard bonking to be a greater sin than offing. Probably something to do with his early family life, who knows.

Thanks for giving me the opportunity to point all this out, Gods Messenger. If there is anything else you'd like to know about your chosen operating manual, don't be afraid to ask.

Pericles,
The Hebrew "Awon" of Exodus 20:5 "iniquity" means perversity which is a natural outcome of their behaviour of following local fertility gods such as the worship of the golden bull. Opposing gods were attributed with arousing natural sexual desires which must be followed as this was worship of that god. The loose and irresponsible sexual behaviour today has its social consequences both in the spread of disease and fractured relationships. That behaviour is perversity, or iniquity as rendered by the LXX and K.J. text. It refers to the natural outcome of such behaviour; following the Torah meant avoiding perverse natural outcomes inherent in an opposing character.

The question remains did God place boundaries on human behaviour that has hurtful consequence if not followed. If one stubs his toe on a sharp rock does it hurt?
