Australia's geographic location in the world gives it the ability to become a neutral country and thus hold the balance of power.
No military assets of any kind on or in our territorial borders.

The questions are.
What is a neutral country in the 21st century?

Do we want to be a neutral country.?

As a neutral country will we hold the balance of power and if so why.

Are we as a nation strong enough to believe that we can manage such a position in the free world successfully?

Do we believe in an honest open society that has the ability to manage our country in this manner.

Welcome and you will find a friend here with a tag like yours.
Can we be honest?
Australia in every shade of government, and quite rightly uses its alliances to protect us all.
To turn our back on our defense partners would be to invite another country to take us over.
I find SOME Christians do not play well with the majority's thoughts.
Australia ,like Gods chosen people the Jews must look to its own defense God was busy during ww2 he may be on leave when we need him here.

Belly ".Australia ,like Gods chosen people the Jews must look to its own defence.

Well said Belly.
If we look at that analysis, any supposed God must be 'on leave' quite often in this world!

I agree that we should not become a neutral country.
We do not live in isolation in this world, and we must continue to have allies for both defence and trading purposes.

We have citizens from many countries living in Australia, and if we snub the rest of the world by saying we are ok on our own, we would cause unrest within our own population, let alone with the rest of the world.

Dear GM,

Our Head of State is still
the Queen of England. And surely our allegiance,
no matter what, is dictated by the interests of
the Commonwealth, and of course our strongest ally,
the US. Before we can become "neutral," we need
to become an Independent nation first.

Belly,
Is it possible that God is just another incompetent bureaucrat ? I know a lot of bureaurcats who, like God, appear to turn a blind eye to so much wrong even though they supposedly have the power to intervene.

Indy while of subject I share, always have your view on those wasters of air.
They not all but most sit in offices seemingly without windows.
A day will come, please let it! that a government will bring true reforms and accountability to all on the government pay role.
Just trying to get the job done in 22 years of government employment was like a life sentence.
However we MUST confront the current state of the planet wars and starvation its a mess.
Maybe God is a bureaucrat?
In the end we can not ignore its our job to improve things thanks Susionline too.
