csteel: pray tell does diversity factor into their colonialist military doctrine called Zionism, you're either a Jew or you're not in their view.'

Well there ya go. I didn't know that the Jews with Zionism were aiming to take over the world like the Muslims do with their World Caliphate.

The Jews just want their country (Israel) back seeing they were kicked out of their Country by the Romans in 66 AD & spread all over Europe, then in 732 ADish by an invading Muslim Army who killed them all & took over their Jewish Temple, or what was left of it, & made it their own.

Csteel please answer the questions. Please.

By the way. Hi Belly,

A belated happy birthday too, young fella :)

I guess I won't get to have a next birthday, 29th Dec. I'd be 68. Seeing we're all doooomed on the 21st of December. :(

After 49 pages the ignorance still continues from "some" people here who seem to not have the intellectual capacity to comprehend the difference between terrorism/fundamentalist Islam and Islam.

This insular and uneducated world view of "some" here, is clearly informed not by facts, but rather their anti Islam bigotry. A bigotry that "attempts" (unsuccessfully) to taint all Muslims worldwide with terrorism.

All religious belief is wrong. Why? Because no deities exist. But, everyone has the right to believe in "their" version of a deity, if they so choose. ALL religions, at various times in their histories (including Buddhism), have attempted to force their beliefs on society. When societies become civilised, this pervasive evil becomes less and less ... till we get the current situation in all modern, civilised regions where forced religious doctrine is not permitted. There's millions and millions and millions of Muslims worldwide, living in such regions, who respect this, agree with this, and who obey the laws of the land like Christians, atheists, Jews, agnostics, Hindus etc etc. Muslims, like ALL other religious people, are born and bred in EVERY country in the world.

But these facts are ignored by the bigots, who wish to taint ALL Muslims with the same negative brush of terrorism. The fact that we have such bigots in a civilised country like Australia is sad indeed. But, people have the right to be uneducated bigots, if they so choose. They have a right to "believe" the right wing shock jocks who regularly preach their anti Muslim rhetoric. And other people have the same right to speak out against the bigots.

csteele,

You draw the parallel with "no more Muslims", "no more Jews". But that is so simplistic.

Why don't Arab Muslims take to the streets protesting against beheadings, stonings, collective hangings, amputations, child-marriages, FGM, and other practices; the fact that a woman's voice is half, even a third that of a man's? Because it is part of the collective consciousness of the people.

A few lone Arab Muslims raise their voices in protest. They are not heard. Because, as one such intellectual observed, "the high priests of political correctness in the West ignore them." ... thus, further condemning their societies to these horrors. He saw this as just another example of the attitude that his people were again "the white man's burden" ... not up to snuff.

Under the Iranian Islamic Penal Code, little girls at the age of 9 yrs, and boys at the age of 12 yrs, are "liable for execution". Many Iranians do protest about the horrors in the Islamic Penal Code. They are not seen again. A few years ago, the Iranians put up a world-wide petition that their country be removed from the UN until the all the horrors of the penal code be changed, and human rights adopted. I signed, did you, steele? Apparently the UN ignored it. No surprises there, looking at the composition of the UN.

I too was opposed to entering Iraq. "Democracy" there is not really successful is it, despite the massive loss of life on both sides? Perhaps it has to do with the local Islamic mind set.

Yet, Bosnia-Herzegovina is Islamic; they have a secular and democratic society. No horrors there as seen in the Middle East. Incidentally, as the late Hitchens observed, the US wasn't thanked for preventing them being obliterated.

Islam does not necessarily equate with barbarity. But in the Middle East ...

Diamond, what you say all seems quite reasonable but-_-_-
The effect of the fundamentalists seems to be that they have the
loudest voices and the majority just go along and say nothing unless
pressed. The police are running headlong into this problem where even
those not directly involved say nothing.

The same seems to happen, when what we consider are outrageous
statements are made by Immans.
I have not heard anything said about the Minister of Railways in
Pakistan offering $300,000 for the head of the film maker.
Nothing but dead quiet.

No, I haven't seen any reason to separate out the loud voices from the rest.

Until the PC crowd remove the caul obliterating their vision as to the horrors in the Middle East, these horrors will remain. Whilst the elephants in the room are ignored, no recognition even of what these people have to endure are given them. Surely, these people deserve better.

I don't believe that entire populations there don't yearn for human rights and dignities that they see in the West. Otherwise, why do so many want to be part of, indeed embrace, our society. Their decision to come to this country speaks for itself.

The British banning suttee in 1829 was not PC was it? If today it was still practiced, the PC crowd would avert their eyes.

csteele, you state your adherence to PC ideology, how does not equate with "freedom of speech"?

Danielle, in those fundamentalist regions you mention, the reason why Muslims aren't out on the streets protesting about Sharia law, terrorism etc. is NOT because acceptance of it is in their "collective consciousness", to use your phrase. It's because if they did they'd be brutalised, killed, stoned, raped, perged, beaten .. you get the idea.

In fundamentalist regions, fundamentalism is FORCED on the population. The population is controlled and brutalised, under severe social and legal penalties.

Please don't blame ordinary, everyday Muslims for the brutal actions of ** FUNDAMENTALISTS **.
