Asking those that support a change to to monoculted society, from a day to day perspective what would be the noticeable changes in Australia that would make it that way? For example its easy to say, everyone must speak English, what of the 850,000 who can't, or are not reasonable with the language, how are those people treated.

This is more of this "populist policy", without it been given any real thought, or its a lack of understanding by the promoters.

Since I specifically said the pre-1788 natives were multicultural, it might be obvious that I don't think they were monocultural.

Again, its important to recognise the difference between a country being multicultural (ie having many cultures in the society) and a country practicing multiculturalism.

Almost all countries on the planet are multicultural in that they house more than one culture in the realm. But very few practice multicultural-ISM (ie aim to treat all cultures in their realm as being equally valid). It hasn't worked here. It hasn't worked in the US. Britain is most definitely finding out it hasn't worked there. France also.

But those who've bought the memes and slogans around 'diversity being our strength' are never going to recognise these failures. Luckily, enough Australians are now clear-headed enough to see these failures and want to move past them. You describe multiculturalism as though it were engaged in a deliberate project to undermine Anglo-European culture. Yet Anglo-European culture appears to be winning comfortably:

- Parliament is still Westminster.
- The courts still operate under common law.
- English remains dominant.
- Most migrants learn English.
- Most migrants consume Australian media.
- Most migrants' children end up sounding Australian.

The evidence seems to (or "appears to", if "seems" is still triggering for you) suggest Australian culture absorbs newcomers far more effectively than newcomers transform Australian culture.

In fact, many of the biggest cultural changes over the past fifty years seem to have come from Australians themselves rather than migrants.

So where is this subversion you're talking about?
