There are very few Mono Cultural Nations; China, North Korea, Japan & Arab Countries. The rest of the World is a Hotch-Potch of cultures & at the point of collapsing as the racial aspect is being weaponised to destabilise societies !

Hi ttbn,

Your claim that the British were a monoculture, is a nonsense. Even 'Pig Iron' Bob noted the diversity of Britain and its people;

"criticising Australians'sensitivities around "purity of blood," noting that the British race itself "derives its strength and resilience from its mixture" of English, Irish, Scots, and Welsh ancestry."

Britain has never been a completely happy union of all four, a thousand years of war between the English and the other three testifies to that.

"Australia was monocultural then and for 200 years. What people eat, wear, or do in the privacy of their own homes, whatever their accents or looks, has nothing to do with a country's overall culture."

Food, clothing, physical features and accents are distinct elements of life, they do not encompass the entirety of a country's culture, but are included in the overarching elements that form that culture. YOU have no understanding of exactly what is a societies culture. For example, in Australia some citizens speak English as a second language, Hanson made a point in her NPC speech that there are people speaking Mandarin and Arabic as their primary language (the language spoken in the home) in Australia. That seemed to offend Hanson as not being part of her ideal monoculture. She could have said there are people in Australia eating curry, and not meat pies, wearing kaftans, maybe that offends her as well. There is probably a multitude of things Australians do that offends that bigoted racists red neck!

Hi Indy,

Put your foot in it there!

"There are very few Mono Cultural Nations; China, North Korea, Japan & Arab Countries."

Well off the mark with China and its 55 ethnic minorities comprising 125 million people, the majority of the population being Han Chinese. Closer with North Korea and Japan, although 4% of people in Japan are part of ethnic minorities. Arab countries are full of ethnic minorities, Amazigh's Kurds, Armenians, Assyrians, and Nubians lots of others. Did YOU know that there are Arabs that follow both Christianity and Judaism, about 15 million people in fact. Knew an Arab bloke from Jordan, Orthodox Christian family, regular church goers, believers in Jesus! More Christian than the average Aussie.

Very few countries have OFFICIAL multicultural policies. That’s what this is about: OFFICIAL suicidal enforced policies without the permission of voters.

Just having a “diverse” population does not classify a country as multicultural.

Canada, Australia and New Zealand are the really silly ones in the West.

“While other nations embrace diversity, these three countries EXPLICITLY ENSHRINE multicultural principles into their laws, constitutions, or government frameworks.

A huge difference to just tolerating diversity.

Some of you people really need to get to know your own country!

I really can't be bothered with people who are too thick, or who are being deliberately obtuse for the sake of an argument on this subject any longer.

When you add "ism" to a word, you very much change its meaning and often its intent. Being social is good. But socialism is an economy destroying notion. A commune is an innocuous place where idealists pretend to exist in harmony. But communism is a civilisation destroying evil. Capital is very different to capitalism. And so on...

That Australia is multicultural is undeniable. We always have been even before the immigrants of 1788 arrived. The culture of the Tasmanian natives was very different to that of the Arnhem peoples. The Daintree pigmies had a totally different culture to that of the Bradshaw peoples. But being multicultural is very different to having multicultural-ISM. Because multiculturalism is a governmental policy which claims that all cultures are equal and equally valid and that the nation ought to support and promote each equally.

Now, that wasn't an entirely unreasonable notion when it first came into vogue back in the 1970's. But, as happens with almost all well-meaning government notions, it was subverted to the needs and proclivities of those it sought to assist. The dominant culture (ie Anglo and European culture) didn't need nor want government support. But a myriad of minority cultures very much luxuriated in the glow of government money and promotion

Ultimately, inevitably, multiculturalism became the notion of not supporting all cultures as equal but instead support all cultures except for the dominant culture that was the basis for the nation's wealth and common weal. It became a project to support minority cultures OVER the dominant culture both by hiding their deficiencies and exaggerating any problems with the dominant culture.

And that's not even the worst of it. Because it then behoved government to enforce this unequal treatment of the multiple cultures through legislation or social pressure prohibiting criticism of things like Islam and all sorts of distasteful minority cultural practices.

Monoculturalism doesn't seek to enforce a single culture on the nation. But it does recognise that the nation's dominant culture is best for the future of the nation and that it ought to be supported. Monoculturalism simply means the abandonment of the falsity that all cultures are equal and equally valid for Australia. It is of coarse feared and rejected by generations raised on the kumbaya notions of a family of cultures living in harmony, not to mention those whose careers and standing are built around the multicultural project. But, I suspect, the majority of the nation re sick of having their culture degraded.

This is not a claim that the Anglo-European culture is best. Just that it is best for Australia. If the peoples of Iran think their culture is supreme then they should very much practice it in Iran. Han culture for the Chinese. Nipponese culture for Japan. And so forth. But the notion that we have to actively allow foreign cultures to exist in and subvert Anglo-European culture in an Anglo-European nation is coming to a close.
