I agree with your above post, recent immigration has been too high, and the government recognises that, and has been working successful to reduce the overall number, not quicker enough for some peoples liking. The greatest benefit from migration are skilled immigrants, our "enemies" like New Zealand absolutely hate it. For example about 50% of doctors in Australia were born overseas, and more importantly 30% were educated overseas. That applies in many professions and trades, these people are gold for Australia. Over 70% of Australia’s permanent Migration Program visas are allocated to the Skill stream.
Hanson likes to project a negative image of migrants, a stereotype of the "Afghan refugee", the radical plotting to inflict a wave of terror on the rest of us.
Something of interest is if the criminality of those born in Australia, as measured by the percentage prison population, was reduced to the level of the migrant population, the number of prisons and police required could be reduced by 20% to 30%.
