I am a bit more optimistic.
The Human Race has been here for a longish time. It has endured and survived many adverse events. It can survive a few more. Intense religion is a relatively recent advent. It is not based on the tenets of practical day to day life. It does, in fact, require a severe curtailment of human needs. It interferes unreasonably with a person's need to survive and express himself. It adds unnecessary complexity and difficulty to life. Sooner or later truth and reason will rise up and cause people to revolt. Eventually, this absurd religion will go the way of all bad things. But along the way it could cause great loss. History shows those who try to change society by force leave chaos in their wake. That reality should be viewed with great sadness. But the way we live now, in mainly democratic countries, gives a far brighter outlook to life. The fact that the world is over-crowded is our main drawback. But 'tis an ill wind which blows no good'. These adverse circumstances will bring out the best in most of us. Even while death and destruction abound, constructive attitudes will surface and strengthen. Which is something for which we should be thankful. Posted by Ipso Fatso, Monday, 30 March 2026 4:07:03 PM

Well Ipso, it is pleasing to hear of people like yourself and your
optimism. Trouble is this has been going on for 1400 years and where might I ask are all the Christians Zoroastrians etc that occupied Mesopotamia up to the 7th century ? The technique of terror is effective so why would they change course ? I am sure Putin and the Chinese are wondering when they will turn on them. Probably after the US and Europe are converted or nuked. They must continue until the 12th Imman returns. This is why countries like Iran, or Persia to give it its correct name, have to be crushed to free their populations. It is a bit like that Vietnamese incident, "We had to destroy the village to save it !" I don't have a clue on how to resolve it, the most difficult policy decision of the last 1500 years. No one wants to kill off all the moslems to stop them but just killing the fanatics will not do the job. How do you educate them to accept others ideas ? It only needs one or a few fanatics to fire them up again. We currently have the latest Crusader in charge but I do not see any signs of a population wide re-education program. My theory is that we should just call out all the bad parts of all religions, that way we're not being prejudice?
If we recognise 'freedom of religion' and that also includes 'freedom from religion'. then to be fair to that standpoint, there should be some kind of review of all religions, look at which parts are unethical, a which parts are causes of conflict and harm. Also look at the pro's as well as all the con's. This is a good video. In depth analysis of Iran / nuclear bombs / potential attack on Tel Aviv with those bombs by a U.S. Jewish expert. His opinion is that Israel needs to change, and recognise Iran's right to exist. Armchair Critic said "My theory is that we should just call out all the bad parts of all religions, that way we're not being prejudice?"
Answer- It isn't just religions that have bad parts... That is prejudiced. Or were you just being ironic? I don't think that any philosophy is without bias, that's why philosophy schools try to give students a grounding in all philosophies, because no one is right completely. Some philosophies have a better status in certain contexts. Sometimes a hybrid philosophy works better. I say we live in an island of truth (science/ subjective morality) in an ocean of mystery (religion/ mysticism). When science tries to interfere in morality Don Cupitt says that it is scientism. "On an allied subject: the effort of Israel should not be forgotten.
It seems to have the idea that by decimating its neighbours, it will have peace for a thousand years." Israel's strikes are on hostile military infrastructure, often funded by nations like Iran and Qatar. Why portray defence and threat elimination as aggression? Would Israel be conducting strikes against unarmed civilians, like Hamas, Hezbollah and Iran do? "And I still think the US of A is losing its war in Iran." How many missiles and drones was Iran firing at the start of the war? How many are they firing now? And I suspect that the Straight of Hormuz will open faster than many think, especially when Kharg Island is seized. All the sizeable naval craft have been sunk, and the 1500 speedboats along with mountain hidey holes are being eliminated with the help of A10s and Apaches. The only thing giving Iran any capability is the help of Russia and China. Trump should make it clear to both countries that information on the location of merchant ships should not be shared. No matter what we do the Islamists will do as Allah requires.
A war to ensure that all are for Allah !
They offer Islam or Jizaz Tax or Death.
Not much choice there for women !
Somewhere down the road, possibly after a nuclear war they will be
offered the choice abandon Islam or die.
The alternative is a repeat, repeat, repeat of nuclear war.
