As of April 2026, the status of the fatwa and Iran's nuclear policy has undergone a major shift following the death of Ali Khamenei on February 28, 2026.

Death of the Former Leader: Ali Khamenei, who held the position of Supreme Leader from 1989 to 2026, was killed in a joint U.S.-Israeli strike. Mojtaba Khamenei became the Supreme Leader on March 8, 2026.
Military Pressure: Prior to this event, in early 2025, senior commanders of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) reportedly urged Ali Khamenei to revoke his long-standing fatwa against nuclear weapons. They argued that the fatwa left Iran vulnerable to "existential threats" from the West and that nuclear weapons were necessary for the regime's survival.
Current Situation: With the change in leadership, the status of the fatwa is now under the authority of the new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei. Reports indicate that as of March 2026, significant stockpiles of enriched uranium remain in Iran, and the official policy is subject to the evolution of the new leadership's doctrine.

For decades, the fatwa was cited by Iranian officials as a religious prohibition against the production and use of nuclear weapons. Its revocation or reinterpretation has long been viewed by experts as a critical indicator of a shift in Iran's defense strategy.

How come nobody makes any demands of the genocidal state?
Why can't they fight their own wars?
Spain stood up, and has been threatened.
I wonder if Netanyahu actually said this

Here's an interesting question.

A Jewish couple, ex IDF are on holiday and eating in a cafe.
The British owner questions them and finds out they are Israeli and were in the IDF.
Then she starts to vent her thoughts on IDF and Israel.
- Venting, Badgering them calling them monsters and murderers for killing women and children.

The store owner eventually runs them out of the store.

The comment on the post states "This must happen to every member of the IOF anywhere they go. Every Israeli should have this happen this ritual humiliation in public needs to be repeated. Israel is the most hated nation on earth."

Comments are mixed.

"They have no remorse. You can’t humiliate when there is no regret"

"Harassing random people isn’t cool. No matter where they’re from."

"The Nuremberg trials clearly established that it's not only those who did the killing that were responsible, it was those involved with the support machinery too"

I can see both sides.
I can see how someone who runs a cafe and who also in their own life might be deeply offended by Israel's genocide and the killing of innocent people, and then find they are sitting in their dining area eating the food you just made, might not be able to stop themselves from saying something.
I can see situations where if members of the IDF holiday in foreign countries some people might conscientiously object to serving them.
Should people be able to refuse them service?
Should our government deny Israelis who've served in recent conflict entry, if there is a real potential for conflict.

Does the store owner have the right to their opinion regarding foreigners, whose participation in the IDF who are responsible for war crimes and torture?

Should we be providing lunch to potential war criminals?
Does the store owner have a right to say 'I will not feed you'?

Should visiting Israelis face some pushback?

I think many people have not realised that the Israelis have reached
a point that the statement "If we surrender we are all dead !"
says it all; I think they are past caring what anybody says.
As far as Spain is concerned you would think they would have more
sympathy for Israel, as Spain was occupied by Islam for 700 years.
Ever heard of Andalusia ?
They know how hard it is to get rid of Islamists.
