No the Supreme Court decision was not odd under US law.

The US Supreme Court quickly assessed that Texas had no case over Other States Electoral Systems.

Even the White House website admits http://www.whitehouse.gov/about-the-white-house/elections-voting/

"Federal elections are administered by state and local governments, although the specifics of how elections are conducted differ between the states.

The Constitution and laws of the United States grant the states wide latitude in how they administer elections."

The rules of the elections do have to comply with the US constitution
in some matters.
But that had no relation as to why the Texas case was rejected.
The court said that Texas had no standing in the case.
It appears they did not consider the evidence. It was not relevant.
So, a whole lot of people will say therefore there was no fraud.
As far as I can make out nothing has changed, the swore statements
are still there and one expert witness has sworn that at least one
computer was connected to an unknown network during the counting.
She was not allowed to examine it further.
That computer has the scanning terminals on the site connected to it.
It accumulates the scanned ballots.
I saw a video explanation as to how the system operates.
It looked very good but it should not be connected to anything but
the terminals. Before use a test pack of ballots should be put
through and the count displayed and then repeated at any time.
That is the way I would run such a system.

Indeed it's looking like the corruption and probably the intimidation is too widespread and effective.
I suppose we'll see what plays out.
This one, this election, being used to cover a coup, is the big one.
It's for all the marbles.
It's whether rule of law or corruption reigns supreme.

so will miss an opportunity to make the system solid.
