Good Morning Individual,

I agree that the ABC must stick to the ideal of
objectivity and many Australians believe that they
do. There's a small minority however that is vocal
against the ABC, passionate and probably beyond appeasing.
So no matter what
anyone says - they will not be convinced.
However as Jonathan Holmes
wrote back in 2019 -

"If you work for the ABC you must follow the recognised standards
of objective journalism and sublimate your own opinion,
at least do your best to do so."

Many Australians believe that they do precisely that.

Foxy,
Were you to socialise with everyday people you'd find that not to be true ! In my opinion the ABC is simply an over-funded academic yuppie club, pushing an insidious agenda, that of the gay etc Left to control & deny anything that is normal moral !

Hi Individual,

I can see that you are passionate and beyond
appeasing in your opinion of the ABC. I
appreciate that and will as a result do
more research on the subject to see whether
you're correct. I firmly believe that we
should have a national broadcaster.

Only about 30% of the population "believes" in the ABC: died in the wool lefties who cite yards of ABC references here in lieu of critical thought and personal knowledge.

Most Australians would not object to a UK-BBC style move against the billion dollar anachronism. Many would like to see it sold off or abolished. But this will not happen as long as we have the cowardly politicians we do.

The most stupid of these politicians are the Coalition, at whom 99.9% of the treacherous venom is aimed - the muck that is lapped up by Communist China and used in their propaganda war against us.

Poll after poll by Newspoll, Essential, and
Saulwick shows that support for the ABC remains at
between 70 and 80% of the population and that it is
the most trusted news source in Australia, by a distance.

But as Jonathan Holmes points out the ABC's own surveys
also show that the number of those who think that the
ABC is doing a poor job has almost doubled in recent
years from 5 to 10%.

Holmes tells us that this should not be shrugged off.
He says that it is the same minority as that conservative
"base" that wields so much influence in the modern
Coalition. He says that it is crucial therefore that the
ABC makes those people too, feel that somewhere in its
output or on air, their views and concerns are heard and
reflected. And to that extent that the verifiable facts
allow given validity.
