At the BBC, employees will now be told not to "express a personal opinion on matters of public policy, politics or controversial subjects".

This announcement follows new director general Tim Davie's pledge last month to impose new social media rules. BBC staff will also be required to disclose their earnings outside of the corporation on a public database.

Great idea although the ABC will be reduced to silence through most of its programs though.
It will be good to expose when someone espouses for a cause they have shares in too.

Hi all.

Please note, Tim Davie's (Director-General BBC's) pro-Government bias policy is almost 5 months old - reported 29 October 2020, at http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-54723282 .

Since then the BBC has increasingly become a CONSERVATIVE Party mouthpiece due to Tim Davie's career and political bias.

Tim Davie was Deputy Chairman of the Hammersmith and Fulham CONSERVATIVE Party in the 1990s.

Tim Davie was awarded a CBE (second to Knighthood) on the recommendation of the CONSERVATIVE Government to the Queen in 2018. This CBE was for Tim Davie's "services to international trade" understood to mean for Tim Davie making himself privately wealthy.

Meanwhile the new Chairman of the BBC, Richard Sharp, has donated over £400,000 to the CONSERVATIVE Party since 2001.

Major BBC journalists/editors are increasingly being criticized for "client journalism" a term resulting from BBC-ruling Conservative Party closeness.

This has led to BBC bias in favour of the CONSERVATIVE Party, as well as uncritically repeating stories from CONSERVATIVE Party/Government sources purporting to be "news".

Well, good. BBC has an conservative boss for a change, unlike the ABC.

However, the "CONSERVATIVE PARTY" as emphasised by Wrong-Thread Pete isn't very conservative anymore, and hasn't been for a long time, gradually moving to the left since Cameron, and now as left as they come with Johnson.

"This has led to BBC bias in favour of the CONSERVATIVE Party, as well as uncritically repeating stories from CONSERVATIVE Party/Government sources purporting to be "news", claims plantarwart without a shred of the evidence he is always talking about. But again, so what! There's no bias when the left is in charge, but it's there when the right takes over. What appalling hypocrisy.

I've had ABC Radio on for the past 3 weeks & I'm amazed how few Anglo-men are actually hosting shows. It's mainly Australian reared females interviewing the odd normal men/woman & plenty gay males & academic females..
