A Greens federal election candidate who allegedly paid to watch and direct the live stream of a child being sexually abused in the Philippines has been granted strict conditional bail.

Jonathan Doig, who stood for the Greens in 2019 against Prime Minister Scott Morrison in the seat of Cook, was arrested after he allegedly paid a known child abuse facilitator so he could watch in real-time the abuse of a 13-year-old schoolgirl.

A FORMER Greens candidate has been charged with grooming a child for sex and having child pornography material after police carried out an online sting.

Karel Solomon, a Greens member who contested the 2012 Marrickville local council election, was arrested on Tuesday afternoon in an undercover police operation.

Police allege Solomon, 61, made sexually explicit comments to a police officer posing as a 13-year-old girl online during the operation last month.

Four Corners did not mention that Dyer was a failed Labor candidate for preselection. Nor that she has said, “my political views are not exactly secret”. Nor that, as incoming director of Adelaide Writers’ Week, Dyer attacked the state Liberal government for having “no f..king idea” and predicted, “they will flog off everything … to their corporate mates”.

Fair enough, but for Labor both offenders were active MPs and the scope of their crimes dwarfed anything that the ex LNP former candidate did.

Likewise, for the greens, the worst offender was an active MP and the other was an ex-candidate.

As for MPs' dalliances with staff Labor far outstrips anything the LNP did. Hawke was nobbing his secretary, Shorten while married was busy knocking up the wife of an acquaintance and the Labor MP that was shagging his secretary on an all-expenses-paid trip on the taxpayers' tab.

So surprise surprise when the ABC found nothing on the ALP when they weren't even looking.

One was a pedogreen candidate for council, the other was a candidate for federal parliament.

If one was not charged please provide evidence to that effect. I can find nothing to support you considering that he was caught red-handed trying to solicit a "minor" for sex.
