Correction: I refer to the smaller mid-western states and by that I mean - smaller population size not area. We should also include some Southern states in the mix. Posted by Foxy, Tuesday, 22 September 2020 10:42:38 AM

Mhaze,
Of course, dick-wits breaking curfews and 'clustering' are bound to kick up the death rate. I'm not sure that Morrison is responsible for the mishandling of quarantine hotels etc. in Melbourne, and clearly the odd outbreak is probably inevitable in every country - but I think Andrews has handled most of those sensibly, with strict lockdowns - which other dick-wits petulantly break, endangering whoever they come in contact with. There's no accounting for idiots. I'm not suggesting that being president of the US would be easy, with its 50 states and four territories, etc. But he has the duty as overall head of state, to at least try to coordinate similar (no, not identical - similar) policy across states, to take the virus seriously, instead of declaring that it will all go away, just drink a bit of disinfectant or shine a light up your arse, or take hexydoxychlorofine - he did and he didn't get the virus so it must work ! - while Covid deaths continue unabated at about a thousand every day. Still, I suppose his golf game is improving. I'm happy - like, it seems most Victorians - with both Andrews' and Morrison's response to this virus. I'm happy with Palaszczuk's and Marshall's responses. I'm happy with the idea of a prompt and hard lockdown - it could have been prompter, in order to suppress the virus to manageable levels. In the US, of course they haven't got anywhere near that yet, and I do think that they will sooner or later have to face up to the necessity for a hard lockdown everywhere there. But paradoxically and very dangerously, people's patience has worn out before that has really been tried. So they're in for a long wait in the US. Loudmouth2, again you are misrepresenting the facts with this nonsense: "virus seriously, instead of declaring that it will all go away, just drink a bit of disinfectant or shine a light up your arse, or take hexydoxychlorofine -
* Trump closed the American border to Chinese as soo as he knew it was spreading. * He never suggested drinking disinfectant, that was a Fake Media beat-up. If you are infected with a disease you need to be disinfected. * He suggested taking Hydroxychloroquine with zinc, which has proved in recent studies to reduce the effects of covid-19. HE never suggested you take hexydoxychlorofine you are a Fake reporter. Read current trials. http://www.news.com.au/world/coronavirus/health/hydroxychloroquine-drug-that-could-be-our-virus-saviour/news-story/a62ea1a7d9c5eed7 Posted by Josephus, Tuesday, 22 September 2020 12:54:23 PM

So to summarise LM, Trump is a complete disaster because he his country didn't do as well as Taiwan and Morrison, whose country did 110 times worse than Taiwan did a good job.
Oh and Andrews, whose state did almost 400 times worse than Taiwan, did a fine job. And you think that all makes perfect sense? Posted by mhaze, Tuesday, 22 September 2020 1:04:35 PM

Dear Joe,
mhaze is just stirring. I don't for one minute think he really believes what he posts in Trump's defence. It's not rational. On Q&A last night John Ruddick the conservative author and Trump supporter made the audience gasp and laugh out loud in his defence of Trump's handling of the coronavirus. Embarrassing. An interesting panel and a lively discussion on
the upcoming US presidential election. Trump
vs Biden.
The American mix on the panel made their feelings
clear as to who they thought would make a more stable
balanced leader. One interesting fact that was brought
up was the fact that smaller states had a bigger say
over the larger states because
of the antiquated Electoral College system.
If it wasn't for the current Electoral College system
Trump would never have been elected. The same applies
now - the system needs to go!
Time this was changed. The "crazies" live in the smaller
mid-western states - and they do not represent the
majority of Americans or the popular vote.
