Don't worry about Jose. He doesn't recognise Moderation, Centrists or a Middle Ground.

Jose, in his little brain,

is using the typical American Extremist rule that the 98% of people to the left of Adolf Hitler are "communists".

Therefore, Jose classes himself as being in the 2% to the right of the Godless Hitler.

To assume that the Democrats are in any way 'communist' is a ludicrous and desperate assertion. Yes, they are more progressive than the Republicans, which, in American terms, means left-wing. But no more than our current federal government. For example: Obamacare, which Trump etc. are about to ditch, is a no-problem health policy with all of our governments, federal and state. A brilliant policy, actually.

And it would be lunatic to accuse this government, or any of our state or territory government, of being communist. But give it a go :)

I've checked my 21 comments on this discussion, not one aligns me with the extreme left or right of American politics.

That's an interesting process of 'logic' of Josephus's:

* if you don't attack a particular group or policy, you must be in support of it;

* if you defend or speak up for, and therefore are in support of, a 'progressive' policy, you must be as leftist as some of its promoters;

* if some of them are extreme-left, you therefore must be extreme-left;

* if some extreme-left people are communists (whatever that means these days), or promote some of the issues that you defend, then you must be a communist supporter.

* therefore, you'll support whatever extremist policy any leftist puts forward. You're not to be trusted around children or horses.

In other words, don't put forward arguments for or against an issue, just look at who someone indirectly associates with, as above.

A bit psychotic, I know, but quite common amongst people with poor reasoning.

Step back and have a look
We've all got different opinions and point of view
And many of the other sides grievances do have a basis of merit
Whether or not we accept these issues as being relevant or not.
