Gee, I give you enough, but I do realise you are just an old bloke with conservative opinions which is your right and you put them up like the rest of us. I don't take offence at what others say, some on here do take things very personal, which is just how they are.

I have no problem with your reply but I get the feeling that some people seem to think that being older as opposed to old & senile is a starting gun for less experienced people to be insipid.
It's obviously a generational thing to dismiss decades of actual experience in favour of religiously believing indoctrination.
All we oldies can do is offer advise or make statements based on actual experience.

Hi Indy, got a young Islander boy staying with us, maybe for a year. He's doing a 1 year graphic design course here in Brisbane. Next year will return to Fiji to take up studies in Suva. The point is got himself part time work $20/hr, washing cars, within 1 day of arrival, despite not knowing the big smoke at all, got his Go Card for public transport, got him a new cheap mobile fone, will pay tax and save some and send something home to family. If he can do it any kid can. Agree? BTW we want him to be independent as much as possible while he's here.
