Dear Paul,
You might enjoy the following: http://www.sbs.com.au/topics/life/culture/article/2018/06/29/can-slur-curry-muncher-ever-be-reclaimed Posted by Foxy, Sunday, 6 January 2019 8:32:52 PM

Hi Foxy, one thing multiculturalism has taught me is there is more to a good curry than 'Clive of India' and 'Keen's' curry powders.
Thanks for the link, I like the line "not just a money cruncher, but a curry-munching money cruncher!" Our two favourites Tazi and her brother are like their mum, take them out to say 'Westfields' and all they want for lunch is sushi, never Macca's or K-fried. I tease Tazi especially "Wouldn't you like a Big Mac".... "Paul you are gross, anyway its not Big Mac its Big Muck!" Tazi is 12 going on 30. Turns 13 in April, wants a "Teenage Party" what ever that is. At Xmas (step)daughter lectured me on the evils of processed ham. Her personal contribution to the Xmas fare was a very healthy and tasty cheese, fruit and nut platter. Every one had to do or supply something for Xmas, food/drink wise. The younger (step)son did two Maori style puddings to his mother-in-laws recipe, turned out perfect, they were yumO' I have to say. The boys got talent, done two more puddings on Boxing Day due to popular demand. "T" was up at 4am Xmas morning, cooking as usual, kai (food) for everyone, it was too much as it is every year. Not all Anglo's didn't want to work over the hols. My son in Sydney (public bus driver) worked Xmas, Boxing, New Years Eve (double time plus on the drunks shift to 4am) then worked New Years night, big money, big tax. Son says New Years Eve is the safest of all. On one run from the City to Bondi at 2am he had a bus load (packed) of drunks and six coppers on board. I catch a lot of Uber's, been getting a lot more women drivers lately. New Years Eve, had a young Asian girl drive us home at 1.30am. I thought a bit dangerous for her, she said she never has trouble, and that night, many like us she had picked up from a few parties. She was working to about 5am. Hey Paul1405,
"wants a 'Teenage Party' what ever that is." - She's turning thirteen right; so maybe she wants to celebrate becoming a teenager - "I catch a lot of Uber's, been getting a lot more women drivers lately. New Years Eve, had a young Asian girl drive us home at 1.30am. I thought a bit dangerous for her, she said she never has trouble, and that night, many like us she had picked up from a few parties. She was working to about 5am." They're safer than taxi's because drivers don't carry cash. And you've got to use your phone (identifies you) to get an Uber; And if your too drunk, you're not able to use your phone properly to order one. - But still a little risky for girls on late night shifts - Posted by Armchair Critic, Sunday, 6 January 2019 10:05:32 PM

That's right AC, you pay through your CC. A good service about a 3 to 5 min wait most times. Home from the club cost us the minimum which usually depending on demand is $7.50.
The "teenage party", not sure if she wants it at home or out, no alcohol or drugs. When I said what ever that is, too old for a kids party, too young for an adult party. Do you have it at night or during the day, those sort of things. Posted by Paul1405, Sunday, 6 January 2019 10:38:03 PM

Foxy, good story.
From first hand experience, I can confirm what your Indian taxi driver said, but if he was talking to a non Anglo, he would have actually said; "they don't like working", and leave out the "during the holidays" bit. Which conveniently fits the Aussie mantra of; "I work to live and not live to work". More's the pity for the Aussies and their future prosperity and growth. Dear Paul,
My husband just reminded me. There was one Anglo.
A policeman, who was driving past and stopped to
help. He directed traffic around us. A very nice
older bloke.
