Op2,

Perhaps you could explain the miracles at Lourdes?

Dear OP2,

Actually you haven't proven anything!

Scripture is clear. God's sovereignty answers to no one.
(Romans 9:20-21). A believer has faith in God's
goodness, even when circumstances make it difficult and reason
seems to falter. You question of "why doesn't God cure
amputees?" is not very intelligent. Who are we to question God
and His wisdom.

We have historical records of Jesus healing lepers, some of
whom we may assume had lost digits or facial features or
limbs. In any case, the lepers were restored whole (Mark 1:
40-42, Luke 17: 12-14). Also there is the case of the man
with the shriveled hand (Matthew 12: 9-13) and the
restoration of Malchus's severed ear (Luke 22: 50-51), not
to mention the fact that Jesus raised the dead (Matthew 11:5,
John 11) which would undeniably be even more difficult than
healing an amputee.

In any case God has given us enough medical professionals
who are able to help amputees and who have dedicated their
entire lives towards this work. Dr Al Muderis is one
such professional who is doing God's work globally.

Loudmouth,

I have listened to many people talk about religion over the years from the Atheist to the rabid believer and I have never seem or heard anyone discussing the individual topics from the Bible in the detail I have....You haven't either!

I don't know why anyone refers to themselves as Atheist because it is simply an unscientific position to hold.

Science always leaves the door open for possibilities that may come out with future evidence and discoveries. The Theory of Gravity looks very solid BUT they keep it as a theory because they may discover another underlying energy/force that is doing the work we attribute to gravity. I doubt there is one but you never know.

I often defend Atheism by taking the scientific approach to it saying...An Atheist is a person who sees no evidence of a supernatural being or a God.

Of course if the believers here suddenly started curing all the amputees of the world, with their prayers to God, that would at least be one piece of evidence that they may be wrong and Atheists may be wrong.

That is why I gave them that task... They are pathetic failures with very minute amounts of faith so they simply will never do it...They believe in the power of prayer I don't...lol

So all the people who attack me who aren't religious really are dills. They can't see that arguments between Atheists and believers can never be concluded unless you give precise analysis of why the Bible is wrong!

The crazy vegemites like Runner you will never convince. They are too indoctrinated to even think!

Is..Lourdes is a money making venture for the Catholic Church...You are a Catholic..You study why some people can "heal themselves" when they are absolutely convinced that the water is healing them.

The human mind is a very powerful tool...Now you explain whilst other people pray to God and still die of the disease they pray for God to heal and why God allows innocent children to die even after being to Lourdes...lmao

There is no dill like a religious dill...lmao

Self-Opinionated2,

Are you a bit schizophrenic - are there two of you, a Self-Op2 (i) and a Self-Op2 (ii) ?

One says, " .... all religions are rubbish."

The other says, " .... all the people who attack me who aren't religious really are dills."

One says, "There is no dill like a religious dill.... "

The other says, "Believers' analytical minds are turned into mush by the religions!"

Assuming there is only one of you, can you try to understand that pretty much everybody on this thread saw you coming, yawned, said, "Ho hum", and went back to what they were doing. What you think you've 'discovered' was known to most of us as school-kids. We realised that the stories were not to be taken literally, at least not these days, maybe back in the Middle Ages but not now. We have long since gone a bit deeper and twigged to the more basic principles of what religious teachings are trying to get across, and built our concepts of good and bad, right and wrong, very much on those principles. Even atheists can appreciate that.

No, Jonah wasn't swallowed by a fish. Daniel didn't shove his head in a lion's mouth or whatever. God didn't/couldn't stop the earth from turning for a day, so that Samuel could have more time to slaughter his enemies. Jeremiah wasn't fed by crows out in the desert: they might have sat by him in his last hours, waiting, waiting. Moses, if he existed, was probably Egyptian, dumped in the Nile by a single mother. Even in his book, Job didn't actually praise god, which is why god had to spit the dummy at him (check out the last page of the Book of Job, fascinating). God seems, in Job, to be a bit of a self-obsessed turd. Stories are apocryphal, Self-Op (i) and (ii). Look it up.

Oops ! God as a turd ? Now I'm stricken ! Aaaaaaaaargh !

Loudmouth...You have become a waste of space and time as usual...

I don't think I have discovered anything... I am just showing what the Bible actually says... Stop reading it if you find it Ho hum... I find your criticisms infantile and unitelligent.

I'm not documenting this stuff for the likes of you...but there is a whole world of agnostics out there who might actually be reading this and realising that what I say is true.

Likewise there may be a whole heap of believers who have never read the books who actually realise that it is a load of garbage.

That's why I don't bother answering criticisms from people like you... It's a waste of my time because you don't have the capacity to understand simple concepts...It must suck to be you!

You can't explain anything to me... again reading your comments is a waste of time...I don't need to look anything up...Most of the Bible is Apochryphal...and I am showing it over and over!

It's believers who believe the literal Bible, and that is why I discuss it that way... Sheesh this is simple stuff, try to keep up!

Now after dealing with that rubbish from you...let's move on.

ANIMAL SACRIFICE

God required animal sacrifices. Really?

Would GOD like the smell of an animal being burnt on an alter?

Exodus 20:24  An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.

AND

Leviticus 1:9  But his inwards and his legs shall he wash in water: and the priest shall burn all on the altar, to be a burnt sacrifice, an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the Lord.

So GOD must love a ritualistic BBQ.

How do people believe this rubbish?

Next time you are having a BBQ God might be looking over your shoulder making certain you cook it properly...lmao

I wonder how God likes his sacrificial meat cooked...lmao
