Self-Opinionated2,

I can't tell if you're an idiot, glorying in his new discovery that Santa isn't truly ruly real, and that gosh, therefore maybe God isn't either, or are having us on. Satire and sarcasm are not easy on the Internet, where some of us may be a bit slow, and may not know the subtleties of your great mind. Perhaps you need to put a winky somewhere to set us at ease.

OP2,

I won't spend too much more time on you since I've concluded that you are either intellectually incapable of understand the illogicality in your rants and/or don't have the intestine fortitude to address them.

The bottom line is this....you claim that you are "providing evidence" for your assertions by referencing a book that you've already asserted is a load of rubbish. In the grown-up world that would lead to the conclusion that your evidence is rubbish or your assertions are rubbish. Its quite the accomplishment to achieve both.

Since I'm always open to helping the feeble-minded I'll give you a hint as to how to escape this impasse that you've created for yourself. You could walk back your assertion that the Bible is complete rubbish by conceding that parts of it are indeed valid ie the parts that you assert are valid. That would then make your rants internally consistent. But it also then leaves it open to others to assert that the parts they like are also valid. That would then leave your claims to intellectual superiority over the believers in tatters...but we all know those claims were ephemeral at best anyway.

But I assume that you'll forgo this advice and continue with your wild goose chase ('goose' being the operative world in your case) to prove that the most influential book in history is bunk. Incompetently argued, but highly amusing.

"Yep...I am mocking your last post by laughing at you!...lol...LMAO"

Laughing in capital letters no less. Wow, that's really persuasive. The most cogent argument you've raised to date...sadly.

Professor Barbara Thiering published a book -
"Jesus The Man :A new interpretation from
The Dead Sea Scrolls" in 1992.

I have a copy of it and it should be available
at most local libraries

In "Jesus The Man," Barbara Thiering presents her
landmark research into the Dead Sea Scrolls and the
New Testament. The Dead Sea Scrolls give us a new
definition of scripture - that it is written on two
levels. In her studies of the Scrolls over a period
of 20 years, Barbara Thiering became aware that this
approach could be used in understanding the New
Testament. Through detailed research and a process of
scrupulous comparison she has applied this interpretive
key to the New Testament to reveal that the real history
of Jesus is ...in the place where, ironically he has
been thought to be least likely to be found - in the
gospels and Acts of the New Testament.

The book is worth a read. It is a fascinating subject.
By stripping away the mystery from events and
examining their significance - Thiering allows the
reader to discover a Jesus who is a real, human, fallible
figure. His courage, compassion, and wisdom are of timeless
relevance and continue to be the wellspring of our
deepest and most powerful values.

Barbara Thiering entered teaching after completing university
with a first class honours degree in modern languages in 1951.
During the next ten years she married, taught modern
languages and raised a family. She developed her interest in
religion with a masters degree in theology, followed by a
PhD in 1973. She began teaching at the University of Sydney in
1967, joining the School of Divinity in 1976 and lectured in
Old Testament, Hebrew Theology. Her studies led to the
Dead Sea Scrolls and a 20-year research project which has
produced remarkable findings.

On Palm Sunday in 1990 the ABC broadcast "The Riddle of the
Dead Sea Scrolls" a documentary based on her research, creating
a nationwide controversy, the effects of which are still
continuing.

mhaze... I should have drawn pictures...Should I quote verses from War and Peace when I am debating the Bible? You just quoted me in your post to mistakenly show where I was wrong..so why did you do that? Imbecile!

Loudmouth... I expect you can't fathom much about anything anyway...lol

Now back to the believers here curing tall the disabled people with their prayers.

JESUS said very specifically...

John 14:12-14 Very truly I tell you, WHOEVER BELIEVES IN ME will do the works I have been doing, and THEY (You guys) WILL DO EVEN GREATER THINGS THAN THESE, because I am going to the Father.

And WHATSOEVER YE (You believers) SHALL ASK IN MY NAME, THAT I WILL DO, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

If ye (You believers) shall ask ANY THING IN MY NAME, I WILL DO IT.

Key words that must be analyzed for you....

WHOEVER BELIEVES IN ME - means anyone including you, who claim to believe in JESUS. All you have to do is believe...

It's unequivocal!

AND YOU

WILL DO THE WORKS I HAVE BEEN DOING, - Not can do... WILL DO the works that JESUS did...

It's unequivocal!

BUT IT GETS BETTER

and THEY (You believers) WILL DO EVEN GREATER THINGS THAN THESE, - If you TRULY BELIEVE you WILL DO even GREATER THINGS than the things JESUS did!

It's unequivocal!

SO DO THEM!

But he goes further.....There is no wiggle room for believers here...

You all try to get out of it BUT these are JESUS' PRECISE WORDS!

WHATSOEVER YE (You believers) SHALL ASK IN MY NAME, THAT WILL I DO,

JESUS promises to do WHATEVER YOU BELIEVERS ASK IN HIS NAME - No ifs, no buts, no wiggle room...all you have to do is believe and ask in his name!

And why will JESUS do WHATEVER YOU BELIEVERS ASK - that the Father may be glorified in the Son.

You Do want to glorify the father in the son don't you? Maybe not?...or do you still believe the son is the father...lmao

cont...

Then he says it again to make sure it sinks in to your thick skulls...

If ye (You guys) shall ask ANYTHING in my name, I WILL DO IT. - JESUS pronounces absolutely - If you ask it in JESUS name he will do it!

It's unequivocal!

"Honour the Father in the Son" by complying with this precise, unequivocal teaching?

WHY DO YOU GUYS WASTE YOUR TIME ARGUING, WHEN YOU SIMPLY CAN DEFEAT THE NAY SAYERS IN ONE GLORIOUS MOMENT OF EXERCISING YOUR FAITH, BELIEF AND PRAYERS TO GLORIFY THE FATHER IN THE SON!

Jesus said it! Now prove all us who question you wrong!

YOU DO HAVE THE FAITH OF A GRAIN OF MUSTARD SEED DON'T YOU?

This will be fantastic... All those disabled people and amputees with their limbs made whole all caused by the faith of people on this site!

PRAISE THE LORD!

I can't wait for your absolute successes here guys... I'll be the first to say I was wrong when you do it. Don't make Jesus a liar now...I have faith in your faith from what you have typed here...lmao

And it is your faith in Jesus that will prove your success and me wrong...Jesus said so!

Sorry for quoting Jesus mhaze...but I wanted to show you what he actually said...lmao
