Are these lies? Would God not do these things? Look at the world today. Not just back then are the sins and evil put in plain sight on paper; we can see it still today. If God exists and is good then the issue of the place the world is currently in comes up as well.

I'm not saying these things to convince you that God doesn't exist. No far from it I know that He does. But I want you to consider that the current observable world is not innocent. That evil and terrible people terrorizing the world at large fill the pockets of every society. If God exists and is loving then He does so in spite of all of this.

God is loving, but He is also severe in His judgments. After all He is contending with an evil and broken world. What else can be done that would get our attention? Looking back at what I know from history, not much gets our attention unless it is drastic or it affects us personally.

The bible does not change this perspective. It does challenge us. Both on pointing out the sins of just about everyone in it should be a challenge to us to think about our own lives and our own actions. But it should also challenge us on our views of God. God loving and shows His mercy and forgiveness a lot. But He is not a pushover, a doormat to walk over, or anyone to not take seriously.

Earlier when I asked you about the God you believe in and how you knew of Him, I had these things in mind. Because God is in charge and is good, but the world is not. What God do you believe in that does not deal with death when there is so much death in the world. What picture of man do you have that makes anyone and everyone a innocent victim instead of something more. A piece of a broken world, that might be more innocent, or less innocent then the world that allows the person to suffer. Please consider this, because I ask it sincerely. What God do you worship?

God deals with us on an indivual level, a global level, and every level in between. From family community, nation, to those who hold specific sins to those who hold places of power, and those who might be scattered through the the world but are counted as together because of a simular behavior, or simular station in the world. Yet on every level we all think we are innocent, even though we can see by the world that there is evil in it. How can that be? But also on every level God has sent his message for our being able to be reunited with Him. With the one condition outside of belief. Why don't churches teach how evil David was?

From what seems a modest start in

2Samuel 8:1 And after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them: and David took Methegammah out of the hand of the Philistines.

By the second verse David has begun is war crimes.

2Samuel 8:2 David also defeated the Moabites. He made them lie down on the ground and measured them off with a length of cord. Every two lengths of them were put to death, and the third length was allowed to live. So the Moabites became subject to David and brought him tribute.

So after he had vanquished the Moabites he took the prisoners, and simply slaughtered two thirds of the captives...

REALLY would GOD approve of this? DO YOU APPROVE OF THIS?

Now if David thought this was reasonable behaviour how many other people's did he do this too and it was such common place that it was no longer necessary to document?

He defeated the Philistines...The King of Zobah and his army ... He defeated Arameans of Damascus.....He defeated the Edomites in the Valley of Salt....

He may have been just and right to his fellow Israelites but was he just and right in the war crimes he committed? Sorry but NO!
