Dear SPQR and Banjo,
Precisely how much racism do you need before a country itself is racist? You're convinced of your truth I'm convinced of mine. However, is yours the truth or is your News Limited? Posted by Foxy, Sunday, 20 April 2014 6:20:08 PM

Foxy,
<<is yours the truth or is your News Limited?>> ROFL I cannot remember the last time I read a Newscorp publication.I might have done searches on google that gave Newscorp results. But I have NOT purposely acquired a Newscorp source in I don't know how long --I LOVE THIS BIG BAD BOOGIE MAN MURDOCH PHOBIA OF THE LEFT! <<Precisely how much racism do you need before a country itself is racist?>. 9.04% -- Only joking! There is no doubt racism in Oz, But substantially less so than many --perhaps, most other countries. AND-AND-AND many examples that are held up as racism are NOT racism at all. I have seen enough examples to know that people often use the charge of racism to further their political ends --or increasingly, further their career prospects. Dear SPQR,
Glad to see your sense of humour is back. Now that's more like it. You're right - every country has racism. It's about how best to identify and respond to the racism we inevitably harbour. Without it we have nothing to fix and other people to blame. Thanks for your last post. Posted by Foxy, Sunday, 20 April 2014 7:08:49 PM

Let's look for the 100th time at the true origin and proper context of the word "Racist"
http://www.marxists.org/archive/trotsky/1930/hrr/ch01.htm "Slavophilism, the messianism of backwardness, has based its philosophy upon the assumption that the Russian people and their church are democratic through and through, whereas official Russia is a German bureaucracy imposed upon them by Peter the Great. Marx remarked upon this theme: “In the same way the Teutonic jackasses blamed the despotism of Frederick the Second upon the French, as though backward slaves were not always in need of civilised slaves to train them.” This brief comment completely finishes off not only the old philosophy of the Slavophiles, but also the latest revelations of the “Racists.” SPQR, reading through that whole chapter you can appreciate why Foxy, DavidF and co are so insistent upon the use of the term "Racist", they see Australia as meagre and backward, it's history irrelevant and it's original ethnic majority group they regard as ignorant bumpkins who need a foreign aristocracy to do their thinking for them but who are nonetheless convinced that they think for themselves all the same. Anything we do or say is "Racist" to them, it's not possible to dislodge them from that position because they don't share our heritage and thus cannot understand the past, present and future in the way we do. Remember, you said, "People who are in denial about racism in this country are simply ignorant. Lets look at the facts - we imprison
brown asylum seekers, we once celebrated our national day
with a white racist riot. There were assaults on Indian
students, a little political organisation called
One Nation, and of course "the intervention" - the heraldic
beak on our long hawkish treatment of Indigenous Australians".
These are 5 specific items you claimed to be 'facts' about racism
These items are NOT examples of racism and I suggest you are well aware of that.
You and I disagree on quite a few issues but I am surprised that you stoop to presenting untruths as 'facts' about racism. Did not any of Eva's writings quote any actual instances of racism. That would not surprise me. I am further surprised that you thought you could say such without being challenged.
You may be able to find some individual acts of racism, like the two women on the bus at Surfers recently, but to claim general racism with untruths is quite wrong.
