Dear o sung wu,
Thanks for this discussion. I for one am thoroughly enjoying all the posts and people's sports. The posts give such a great insight into some of the posters. Great stuff, and good to get away from politics for a while. I missed your earlier question to me about my health. Sorry for not answering. My last procedure was not a success - and I'll be undergoing more treatments around Feb/March. I'm optimistic that things will all go well - and I'll be off to Tassie before too long. In the meantime - Christmas is just around the corner and I'm really looking forward to time spent with family, grandchildren, and friends, and of course - cooking for them all. Wishing everyone a very Joyous Festive Season and a New Year filled with Peace, Health, Happiness, Hope, and Love. All The Best. Posted by Foxy, Friday, 20 December 2013 9:49:58 AM

Hi there BELLY old mate...
Once again you hit the proverbial nail on the head my friend when you say that 'sport' is a substantial part of the conduit that binds us all (EVERYONE OF US) together ! Notwithstanding our colour, ethnicity, creed (our various belief systems) even gender. I would might suggest 'sport' could even be a solution to many of our more intractable civil-unrest situations ? The problem is to determine the correct mechanism(s) necessary to inculcate sport as a viable option to that of guns and bullets ? We can only hope I guess. Another very wise contribution from you, BELLY ol' son ! Many thanks. Posted by o sung wu, Friday, 20 December 2013 2:33:30 PM

Hi there SALTPETRE...
Rifle Shooting eh ? I must admit I don't mind punching a few holes in a target every once and a while, though I don't own a F/A of any description these days. The licensing requirements are a little too oppressive for me, as well as the exacting demands for safe custody of the weapon, which I do fully support. Now scuba diving is an activity that I'd never consider for many reasons, particularly the notion that one needs to carry one's air supply with them in order to participate in the sport ? I'd never feel comfortable attempting to be; 'at one with the sea' ! We humans were never anatomically designed to gallivant around underwater ! That's not to say those of us who like to push the boundaries of human endeavour might not have any fear of scuba activities ? Another contributor herein mentioned that some people who play and follow cricket, aren't aware that there are those who consider cricket as a somewhat feminist or 'sissy' sport ? Well, I don't know about that. When you're at the crease and a 'quickie' sends one down at you, at c 120 - 140kph, you very quickly realise it's not a game for the 'limp wristed' sportsperson ? A 'six stitcher' is one hard little puppy, believe me ! Thank you SALTPETRE for your contribution. Posted by o sung wu, Friday, 20 December 2013 4:31:11 PM

And good afternoon to you FOXY...
I'm so glad to hear that you like this little topic, which is meant to be 'easy going' and a complete departure from the hard slog of politics and politicians. And it's true, we're persistently being assailed by either State of Federal governments, all telling us what's good and bad for the population, and in reality, it's mostly just a lot of ho-hum when you boil it all down ? So it's time for a bit of light discussion I thought. I'm also very sorry to hear that your most recent procedure was not very successful. Then perhaps your next treatments that are planned for February and March next, may prove to be far more favourable anyway FOXY ? Though, I can only imagine how frustrating it must be for you to prepare oneself to have this invasive procedure, and it turns out not to be quite as successful as first predicted ? All that remains to be said - All your many, many, friends that proliferate this Forum, hope that your planned 'procedures' will be a roaring success in February and March next ! Take care dear FOXY. I'll fess up now, most of my above post isn't true, in fact its a total joke, a laugh, I didn't do any of those things at all. This world needs a bit more laughter. Cheers my internet mate.
Seems some Santa got the sack for a joke with the punch line Ho!Ho!Ho! What is the world coming to, if Santa can't say Ho!Ho!Ho!
