bonmot,
I well remember that episode....Loudmouth had spent considerable time asking questions on climate - and you respectfully responded to his inquiries: http://forum.onlineopinion.com.au/thread.asp?article=13951&age=0#241436 He then replied to you and when you failed to respond, he said this to me of you: http://forum.onlineopinion.com.au/thread.asp?article=13951&page=0#241476 referring to you as my "constipated friend"....this after you had replied sincerely to his questions. SPQR, - we're only human, and sometimes it's difficult not to retaliate in kind to those who seek to continually wind us up. bonmot is correct in his assertion that we fail to respect each other. I've been pasted with all sorts of derogatory epithets by a certain poster during the last few months (under the guise of courteous inquiry), and I admit that I've tended to respond in kind. I feel I could do better, rise above it in future...but as I say, we all react to deliberate taunts, especially if they are repetitious in nature. It's human nature to react in this way, as this thread demonstrates, but it doesn't negate that we all tend to react psychologically in similar fashion no matter where our loyalties lie. @Bonmot ,
I don’t want to get bogged down in some back & forth with you on this fine Spring morning –let alone risk feeding narcissistic fantasies that I am your “follower” or “stalker” (LOL) –so this will be my last comment on this issue. <<SPQR laughs …he thinks it's a laughing matter >> Your post talking of the need for respect implies that other posters –who had posted earlier, and taken a harder line about Islamic extremism – were lacking respect. And seeing that coming from someone whose own posts are often less that respectful – it strikes one that your comment was either intended as a joke or was an example of blind hypocrisy– I gave you the benefit of the doubt and chose to laugh. << SPQR looks for quotable quotes…taken out of context …>> Out of context--not so! Your linked contributions were to say the least, less than *respectful*, and it would appear that others saw them as less that respectful too since, at least one of the posts I linked to --and a much larger number i didn't have the time/space to link to are no longer there to be read! Cheers and over and out Posted by SPQR, Saturday, 6 October 2012 9:38:10 AM

Hi Poirot,
Yeah, at least I still get a laugh out of it. I wonder if one can catch constipation: I suppose, until you start facing up to the issues on this thread, Enlightenment vs ultra-conservative values, and someone can explain why sections of the Left seem to go down on their knees to extreme right-wingers ('as long as they're not American'? Is that it?), we'll never know. Cheers, Joe :) Posted by Loudmouth, Saturday, 6 October 2012 11:49:51 AM

Or; “In 1980, three KKK members shot four elderly black women ...
Yes, well America 32 years ago. It wouldn't & doesn't happen now. It did get headlines back ten. I vagely remember the piece.
Csteel: Whenever I describe someone as having “become the type of poster that is not worth the effort” I have found it is fairly normal behaviour for them to ratchet up the vitriol in an effort to get me to respond.
I hardly think asking you politely to say whether you are a Muslim or not is vitriol. Is that why you seem to have deflected the answer my question.
I ask you again politely. Please, csteel. Are a Muslim or not a Muslim?
