In saying that the Christians were guilty of the Holocaust. It should also be noted that the Arabs collaborated and plotted with the German leadership, lending them help and support in their persecution of the Jews. There is evidence of this collaboration and also pictures taken of these Arab leaders with Hitler at the height of the war.
That is why the British were in military control of Palestine when the war ended, they regarded the Arabs as having sided with their enemy Hitler. When the Jews were given a homeland in Israel by the British, the Palestinians and Arabs didn’t like It. Much the same as a lot of Australians don’t like all these Moslems being allowed into Australia. When the British pulled out of Palestine, at least 3 Arab nations raced over and attacked the new Jewish nation. It was called the Six Day War. The Jews having just been through one annihilation, were armed and ready. They won the war in six days. It was then they took some of the disputed territories. Probably as a buffer zone between Israel and Palestine and the Arab states. There is no answer to the Israel, Palestinian question. They both need the land and resources for their evergrowing populations. It is literally a fight for survival on both sides. Posted by CHERFUL, Wednesday, 19 September 2012 6:29:21 PM

Dear CHERFUL,
I recommend that if you haven't read the book, "My Israel Question," by Antony Loewenstein then you should. It is a searching discussion from a significant Jewish voice in one of the most important debates of our times. Interesting read. Posted by Lexi, Wednesday, 19 September 2012 6:45:22 PM

LOL Lexi
The one thing Lowenstein isn't is a "significant Jewish voice." Meanwhile the French satirical magazine, Charlie Hebdo, has published a new Muhammad cartoon. It apparently features a turbanned naked Muhammad "exposing his posterior to a film director." See: http://www.news.com.au/world/french-magazine-charlie-hebdo-publishes-nude-cartoons-of-prophet-mohammed/story-fndir2ev-1226477532876 and http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503543_162-57515536-503543/french-leaders-fret-over-new-mohammad-cartoons/ Charlie Hebdo was firebombed last year so let's congratulate the brave editor. It is thanks to people like him that freedom of speech survives. Would that Australian editors were that bold Posted by stevenlmeyer, Wednesday, 19 September 2012 7:53:04 PM

LOL
I read that one of the rioters charged was recognized by some kids. Turns out he is, or was, their school bus driver. He must not be a parent, as he would know not to say or do anything in front of the kids that you don't want repeated. Tickled my sence of humour. Dear Scribbler,
Thank you but rather than any real research it was a fortuitous and largely accidental cross-link that landed the White Power association, though the internet really is a two edged sword. As Cenk from The Young Turks points out our 'village idiots' who once only had a village wide impact now have a world wide audience. Dear Poirot, Thank you for the sentiment. While I might have hoped to have been included among the more measured posters on OLO in years gone by I am now finding myself constantly battling the impulse to wring necks and that is not a good sign. I acknowledge I have probably been on OLO too long and those with whom in the past I took the time to engage in reasoned debate have been replaced by a new flock and my ability to observe the niceties has unfortunately waned. I have been re-reading the thread SPQR mentioned. While I stand by everything I posted, indeed even with a little pride, it is hard to go past my words to Belly; “You keep banging on about the ALP and the Green/left, time to drop it mate and realize you belong to the GOB party (Grumpy old bastards). Don't fret because I will be joining you in the not too distant future, I am already showing signs of it now.” http://forum.onlineopinion.com.au/thread.asp?discussion=4525&page=0 Dear SPQR, I have actually had that particular thread thrown at me on a number of occasions. The stance I took seemed to upset quite a few people, just not sure why. If you wanted to be a little more specific in your case that “she made no step-down when the truth came out.” I am happy to answer the charge. Dear Lexi, Thanks for the links, all good stuff. I was watching the one of Rami posted by JoM earlier http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gv6-tsV5Xj0 and I couldn't help be struck by his call for his compatriots to go to TAFE. Given the decimation of this institution by state governments on the Eastern seaboard I do wonder what the long term ramifications will be. Posted by csteele, Wednesday, 19 September 2012 8:25:18 PM

By the way, that joke of yours about the cat is very old. Last time I heard a much better rendition was 25 years ago in the film 'Capricorn One'.
All the best.
