OUG I doubt the thread got deeply in to the subject.
The lst one on this subject both explored religion and the mystery's of this subject.
My belief is as a former follower of your God.
So I have some idea of both sides.
Cynic or realist, others may make up your mind what I am.
But this is my belief.
First humans wanted answers to the Sun and the moon.
Noises in the dark night and some, more inventive than others found answers for them.
Look at the brilliance of the rainbow serpent head firmly in a gully as it digs yet another stream, or is it just the sun reflection on rain drops.
Like the people of my childhood who told every kid the same story.
Of an ugly man riding a push bike who kidnapped children who never returned.
Horrible story's about him soon took root,we helped invent the monster that existed only to see we stayed away from strangers and came home before dark.
Power came to the best story teller/strongest rules to support that power came too.
Today mate, those at one end of religions, the truly broken, find a hole to hide in, a warmth they need to say you are ok now.
At the lowest point in life people from within a Church who WANT to serve offer hope.
Those people, both the hurting and the helping exist to prove the unprovable.
And first and last seek and you will find, a shaman, in any of the names they take , a performer of tricks and magic.

In an effort to revisit the very heart of the threads intent I have been surfing! the web, still swim well there.
Read a page of letters, from dead people.
Aways find such hard to believe but not written by your average bloke.
From a book many mansions written by no less than air chief marshal who bombed Germany in ww2.
Lots more floating on those waves today, reincarnation Ghosts, BUT [when will we contribute enought to get ways of highlighting here] I see fraud there often.
So here , in gods Ghosts, after life, goblins, name them all,seek and YOU WILL FIND.
But look now at the near deaths, some never considered after life.
How did they travel and return.
How, sitting in that car, all the way from that coastal city to Sydney did I grief stricken and shocked find my dad sitting beside me.
On a sunny day mowing that lawn, thinking ONLY of my after noon trip to a beach, the sand I would bring back and sea weed to put on a garden bed, did I hear, or think I did,from mums old chair on the veranda her voice saying I am proud of you.
Remember know for sure I had no thoughts in my head I was aware of about her.
Last our mind is our comfort but too our torture for some.
