I was expelled from a Party in NSW because I opposed the leader who voted in support of Labor in the sale of Power. I am now with Family First and Dr Gordon Moyes because we believe essential public assets should be managed by the State. This is in the best interest of Families.

You have all probably heard of the smart grid.
Well this is the system where smart meters are fitted to your house
and the connected to the NBN.
Well originally it was to be connected using Broadband Power Line but
that was a dismal failure so along comes the NBN to the rescue.

The way it will work is that off peak power time will disappear and be
replaced by variable rates. At times when demand is high, like late
afternoon when ovens and stoves and TVs come on, the rates will go up.
To encourage you to turn off your air conditioner they will turn up
the rate.
Ultimately, if it is so hot you refuse to turn off the air conditioner
they will turn it off for you.
Hmmm why do you think the planning is on for all appliances to have
an IP address ?
Thought you would charge your electric car at cheap rates, Ha !
There are no longer any off peak times.
Used up your CO2 allowance ? Turn off everything except a few lights.
Well, who thought big brother was dead ?

Oh what the heck, most of our trade is stuffed [since 1998], many old solid Australian companies sold out to international companies ten years ago, what are a few more State energy sales to hidden o/s companies going to hurt?

I fought that battle Philo, did it openly but as a then working trade union official did nothing that could have cost me my job.
My members came first.
Moyles is not a bad bloke.
But never ever should be in politics, no place for any creed.
I KNOW public ownership is best BUT not as it is.
We one day will CONFRONT the truth, management is done by third grade rejects from real jobs.
I gave my all in EVERY JOB, look at this simple fact if you ran a utility, any of them, would you sack those dragging it down? not performing?
I WOULD, outdoor workers are not the problem, some indeed are,but those in the office bent over games on the computer or plans for a mates home are.
Holding on to the past, the idea its about jobs not constant improvement change and better out comes is wrong.
If we oppose change we age faster than our actual years change is a driver of improvement.
Cop it Barry is in, he will sell, he must,he may just do a good job,for a while, any thing is better than this.
I will continue even if chucked out, stay ALP requesting change and improvement.
From the embers of a once proud fire that will rise again.

Smart meters are going in all around the world. Some people need this sort of regulation because they can't help them self. So we all get smart meters. Mine went in in 2008. With solar power it has been the greatest asset yet. These things have to be to force change. People won't change for no reason. As the world gets more populated and co2 in the are is out of control, change has to be forced. So help yourself, instead on whining like a worn out diff; do something to ride the waves and you will stay in front of the game.
