"
Please discuss why you think so highly of the man and how
will he be good for America and the world."

You've got to be kidding, right? I've been talking about Trump and Trumpism and MAGA for 8 years, and somehow you don't know my views. Go back and read any of my posts on this since 2015 if you have a genuine interest

mhaze,

Now you know how I feel when you accuse me of not listing
and giving you examples about Trump's behaviour when I also
have been doing precisely that on this forum and for a
long time. Including starting several discussions on the
man.

I am open to responsible discussion - but I will not engage
in further dialogue if your attacks persist.

OK, just for you....

Domestic Policies

I’ve explained more times than ought to be necessary, Trump represents a revolution against the globalist elites in the US, the UN and the various globalist NGOs. The last 30 years have been a disaster for the working class and middle classes in the US with jobs and livelihoods being exported to the world (mainly China) while the urban elites have feasted on cheap imports and government largess.

Trump sought in his first term, and will most definitely continue in his second, to reverse these trends by bringing manufacturing, agricultural and extractive industry jobs back to the US. His first term saw a massive increase in fossil fuel extraction such that the US became energy independent. He has already said that will return from day one. Harris OTOH has come out against fracking and the return of those jobs. I’ve shown before that the Trump tax changes favoured the working classes and families.

By bringing manufacturing back home, jobs are created, and national independence enhanced. This is why Trump is now the favoured candidate of the working class.
We saw how in his first term black unemployment fell to its lowest level ever. That’s why he’s now favoured by more blacks than any previous Republican.
His policy of closing the southern border and returning illegals to their home country will likewise improve the employment prospects of the US workers and increase wages.

Trump is well aware that the deep state apparatus needs to unwound in order to save US democracy. This will be a top priority for MAGA but will need to be continued by those who follow him. Nonetheless, as technology makes individual suppression easier it is vital for freedom that the state be bought under control. Only Trump can do that.

There’s so much more to like – his climate policies, anti-woke policies, pro-family policies- but that’ll do for now.

Foreign Policy

Trump’s first term was a triumph for the US in terms of foreign policy. The US engaged in no new wars in that term, something that was almost unheard of in the past century. Indeed not only were there no new wars, but he was extracting the US from the wars his predecessors had started. Obama’s incompetence had landed the US with a war against ISIS which Obama said would take years to end. Trump finished it in 6 months.

Although Trump couldn’t get out of Afghanistan in his first term, he did get most of the issues lined up to get out. As expected, Biden screwed it up resulting in the greatest US military debacle this century.

The Abraham Accords were close to completion by the end of his term, with an historic peace between Saudi Arabia and Israel months away. This was to the severe detriment of Iran who were also cowed by Trump’s policies toward it. Biden scuttled the Abraham Accords. Trump will restart the process if he gets back. An historic peace in the Middle East remains possible.

Obama and Biden had severely weakened Ukraine while Trump recommenced providing them with arms. Biden, as we now know, used and encouraged Ukrainian corruption to enhance his family wealth. Putin invaded Ukraine during the Obama and Biden presidencies but was too afraid to do so while Trump was around.

NATO was saved by Trump through his tough love. It is now acknowledged that his demand that NATO countries fulfill their obligations and not just rely on the US is what got them to the point where they could face Russia.

China was restrained during the Trump presidency and was forced to ameliorate its economic warfare.

All of this will start again if he wins. It is already reported that Iran is actively seeking to help the Democrats. Trump will bring the war of the Russian steppes to a close.

From Australia’s point of view a strong but restrained US is ideal. A weak and poorly led US is our worst nightmare. Trump is good for Australia.

mhaze,

Now, here's why I'm concerned if Trump gets re-elected:

Brittanica and others on the web have even more.
