National Broadcaster SBS has been named the most trusted news brand in Australia ..."

In a recent survey of Australian's trust toward 30 different professions, journalists were ranked 29 out of 30 in terms of least trusted. (Politicians came in 30th - big surprise).

Most people are now aware that journalists and their outlets are completely untrust worthy. Others are still fooled.

So SBS being voted the most trust-worthy is hardly praise. Its like being voted the most trustworthy bikie gang.

My opening comments concerned legacy media - TV, newspapers, radio. All the stuff that's been around for decades and which are tools of the elite.

The saviour here is the internet. Even though places like Facebook and Instagram are very much anxious to do as they are told by the establishment, there remains pockets of resistance.

Primary here are blog sites run by journalists and commentators who have left the legacy media in disgust at their habitual lying ( the best here is Bari Weiss) and of course, X/Twitter where censorship is effectively barred.

Indeed Musk's purchase of Twitter may well turn out to have been the most consequential freedom of speach event since the passing of the 1st amendment.

SBS the "most trusted brand".

I thought that was the ABC.

In either case, it is utter bullsh.t because not enough people have anything to do with either them to make them significant, let alone trusted.

The National Broadcaster SBS - has been named the most
trusted brand in Australia by the University of Canberra
and Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalisms
Around Global Digital News , Report 2024.

Each year the Report delivers comparative data on media
usage in 47 countries including Australia.

The University of Canberra conducts the Australian research
for the global report examining Australians' attitudes to
news, journalism and in recent years it has chartered the
declining trust and growing misinformation within the
news and social media ecosystems.

This report is a strong validation of the work of the SBS
teams and what they do across all news platforms to
provide accurate, impartial, and trustworthy news and
information to all Australians.

I'm sure there are other reports on other news platforms.
If you don't happen to agree with this one.

Sky News, the Murdoch press, and even bikie-gangs will have
their own versions of "fake news."

Each to their preferences.

"SBS - has been named the most
trusted brand in Australia"

Yes you already said that. Repeating it doesn't make it any more convincing.

In terms of information dissemination, which is what journalism used to be about, the most trusted sources these days aren't any of the legacy media, of which SBS is a small part. Instead its X and Facebook and the multitude of blog sites.

But I guess that is only true for those who want to seek out the truth and not be told what to think.

AU has it's own msm in the shape of sky news. Nothing but made up propaganda. sometimes they have out guessed Dutton. The next instalment they have forgotten what they said yesterday and go with the latest from Dutton.
