mhaze,

Don't blame me for your interpretations of what I write.

Try to drop the insults. They're a turn off.

This obviously incorrect claim that media shunned by most of the population is ‘most trusted’ is the result of propaganda, belted out so often that it has become accepted by some not-so-bright people, and the drones who have never looked elsewhere for information. No media, from the ABC, SBS, through the commercials, right up to supposedly conservative SkyNews can be trusted anymore.

Anyone who takes what the media says as gospel is a dumbcluck.

The triumph of the bizarre over reality these days is down to the cognitive dissonance of the multitudes too lazy or too thick to educate themselves.

All the media, the institutions, the politicians, are guided by the Left, to a more or lesser degree. Logic, common sense and truth have gone out the door. At least in the Western world. This has happened over the last 50 years.

Woke is not something new. It has been seeping into the system for at least half a century, and too few people have been brave enough to stop it. There is really not much point in discussing it anymore. It's an old cliche I know, but the asylum is definitely being run by the lunatics, and only the complete loss of the West might bring about a recovery some time in the future. Not in my lifetime, though.

Any society that has denied, and continues to deny, that the free world has been in the hands of a dementia sufferer since the last US election is too far gone to be redeemed - even by Donald Trump, who they are still telling lies about and demonising.

In this world we have all sorts of people who believe in
all sorts of things. Some sane, some scary. Some way out of
reality in different universes.

There's those in the US to whom winning is everything, and they
thrive on showmanship, and
know how to manipulate both the press and the public.
Where the end justifies the means. Where the slogan of -
"Make America Great Again" rings true.

They want to hear that:

After they vote in this coming election, they'll never
have to vote again. That rules and regulations will no
longer apply. That the Constitution will no longer matter.
Neither will international law, or signed allied agreements.
That supporting NATO will no longer happen. That Israel will
do what it wants and so will Putin and China. With US
Blessings.

And what the media produces is all - - "fake news." And propaganda.

It's not surprising that some in the US are buying into all this.
But what is surprising is that so are a tiny minority here
in Australia.

Still, it takes all kinds. There are people who think they've
got glass bums and if they sit down they'll crack them.
Many people have mental issues.

You can't reach for anything new if your hands are full of
yesterday's junk.

On the other side of the coin - "normality is a paved road.
It is comfortable to walk. But, no flowers grow on it."

And, in that same vein - here's some more food for thought:

"If we resist reading what we disagree with, how will we
ever acquire deeper insights into what we believe?"
Surely -
The things most worth reading are precisely those that
challenge our convictions.

Cheers.

Words to live by. Hopefully you'll adopt them one day.... but evidence to date is to the contrary.

"Try to drop the insults. They're a turn off."

What insults? BTW I'm not the slightest bit interested in turning you on.

The point of all this is that the legacy media, including places like SBS, no longer aim to inform but instead to lead. Some like being led.

And they are terrified of the revolt of the plebs. So Trump must be stopped at all costs and if that means lying to protect Harris, just as they lied to protect Biden, then they'll do it with alacrity and glee.

That is why Harris's dismal performance as Border Czar is being suppressed. That is why Harris' dismal performance as a Senator is being suppressed. Its why they don't want to talk about her extra-marital affairs while joyfully covering every sexual accusation against Trump.

They are desperate to get Harris's vote close enough that the cheating machine can do the rest. And journalistic standards don't matter.

I find the whole thing fascinating. Orwell nailed it. If society remains just a little free, historians will study it for centuries. But I suspect not.

mhaze,

I appreciate your honesty.

You probably won't get this:

However, I really don't need you to "give me a seat at
the table" so to speak.

I'll bring my own folding chair.

As for the former US President Donald Trump?

Jane Goodall put it so well:

"What we do makes a difference. But we have to decide what
kind of difference we want to make."
