As usual AC, you've got things arse about backwards. This comes from your penchant whenever you find something bad in the world of trying to work out how to blame the US rather than trying to understand the cause of the problem.

In this case, if you go back and look at the history of Venezuela, you'll find that the Venezuelan economy had well and truly unravelled long before the US implemented any economic sanctions. Indeed the economic sanctions were implemented as a result of the Venezuelan decline which caused problems for all its neighbours including the US.
