"Democracy ain't perfect but I'd prefer to have the choice between two fools"
- You'd prefer to be lead by fools, so long as you 'feel' like you have a choice of which particular fool? Interesting. That there might be a part of the problem, and why the West is losing. - And why our countries are going down the toilet. As for Putin... He's been in a permanent position as President or Prime Minister since 1999, 24 years. In comparison to Albo, such a great product of 'democracy' - Well, your mate Albo, the champion of democracy, is a schoolboy compared to Putin, a statesman. Albo will be out of the job and into some barely known think-tank writing crap editorials no-one will read or care about before his balls have even dropped, compared to Putin with 24 years experience at the leadership helm. All the Western leaders will be gone. But Putin will still be there. Posted by Armchair Critic, Thursday, 6 June 2024 1:19:05 PM

AC: "All the Western leaders will be gone.
But Putin will still be there." Yes...he's a dictator. That was rather my point. Of course we all know you are a shrill for the world's dictators. ___________________________________ Foxy: "and its circulation figures are good" Well you'd know a lot more than the owners of the paper, obviously. You'd better fill them in, because they think things aren't going so great given that readership has halved in three years. But as I say, you'd know better than them. Struth!! Its reported that the Post lost $77 million last year. But I'm sure you can tell us how this is a good result. Its probably only a matter of time before they charge Trump with the theft of that money. Posted by mhaze, Thursday, 6 June 2024 2:39:38 PM

mhaze,
Thank you for your concern. "It's a given that Washington and the nation need the Post to survive. No matter how you feel about the paper, it provides essential coverage of politics, power, and governance for national readers and still does its best to do the same on the local scene." "As a news competitor, it keeps outlets like the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal sharp and feeds firestarter to the local news ecosystem of TV and radio."
