" Donald Trump likes to claim that the loans for which
he fabricated business valuations were repaid, so nobody lost money, there were no victims and there was no wrong doing on his part." "Nobody lost money?" "If Mr Trump received favourable loans and insurance terms, then investors in those banks and insurance companies lost money." "Mr Trump's fraudulent inflation of asset values led to reduced borrowing costs for himself and to corresponding reduced revenue for the banks and insurance companies involved." "Though the thought of reduced revenue for banks and insurance companies might not initially seem too troubling, millions of Americans, in all income classes own stock, mutual funds, or pension plans with investments in finance companies." "Though there might have been no singular high-profile victims in the Trump case, there were indeed a great many victims." The fraud went on for years, including tax fraud. Trump throws a tantrum every time he gets called out, and in this case, held accountable. This was taken from opinions in the Washington Post. http://washingtonpost.com/opinions/2024/02/22/donald-trump-claim-no-victims-wrong/ Posted by Foxy, Thursday, 6 June 2024 9:46:28 AM

"This was taken from opinions in the Washington Post."
No higher authority than that....<mega sarc> These dills go on like the banks were clueless dupes. These are some of the biggest most successful banks on the planet. They didn't just take Trump's word for it as regards their valuations. They did their own valuations. They ALWAYS do their own valuations. If you go for a mortgage do you think the banks going to take your word for it as to how much the collateral is worth? Seriously, the cluelessness is astounding. I warned you to stop digging but you can't help yourself. ps regarding the Washington Post.... they have lost half their readership over the past 5 years because of the crap they write. Now the owners, seeing the writing on the wall, have sacked the editor and quite a few others and are bringing in less ideologically tainted people ie they are going from being a far-left paper to merely a left leaning paper. Is it? It could be pathetic. But only if you're dumb enough to think our leaders are actual leaders and not branch managers. Maybe Albo and Dutton are pathetic. Maybe the Australian people are satified being lead by pathetic people. Or maybe it's the Australian people themselves who are pathetic. What do you want me to do about it when people keep banging on about how great democracy is, but gives us a choice between 2 idiots that are both unlikeable and electable? Great system. Why pay attention to the destructive morons in my own government? - They would only be replaced by even more destructive morons. Haven't you noticed the trend? All western governments are now lead by destructive morons. This is a result of a destruction of nationalism and loyalty to country and pandering to woke crap and western imperialist ideals. - Shrouded as: "Do you think Australia should take a leading role in 'such and such' foreign bullshite" - like say defending the 'plight of the warming penguins in antarctic' Really what that means is America wants to send 2 carrier fleets and an invasion force to CONQUER the wealth and riches of Antarctica. What really matters is the colour of ink and plastic we use, that we call 'money', does it have an American or a Chinese face on it. This is what will lead the world to war, and the conflict we're being drawn into and to which we must carefully choose sides. You think these 2 douchebags and their ilk are even up to navigating a course forward? Posted by Armchair Critic, Thursday, 6 June 2024 12:27:38 PM

Great system." Yeah. Much better to have a system where you don't get a choice between two idiots and instead wake up to find yourself ruled by one idiot who also turns out to be a homicidal maniac intent on keeping power, turning into unimagined wealth and sacrificing untold lives for his own glory. Great system. Yes I'm talking about the likes of Putin and Xi. Democracy ain't perfect but I'd prefer to have the choice between two fools than the choice between kowtowing to one maniac or the gulag. But that's just me. Speaking of the which.... http://x.com/i/status/1797621485080883701 (for the totalitarian apologists in our midst, this refers to the Tiananmen Sq massacre).
