Some people blatantly support politicians and leaders
who make false statements. Studies have found that
people do this in some cases - knowingly because it
aligns with their personal beliefs. We've had the
case of Pauline Hanson in this country and now -
Donald Trump in the US.

Donald Trump since childhood has been taught winning
matters - and do whatever it takes to win.

We need voters who think for themselves. That's why
objective evidence is so very important. That's the
only way leaders can be held to account.

Holding leaders to standards that align with
democratic values and norms is the key to fighting
political misinformation.

Some people are comfortable articulating statements they
know are not based on fact because it suits their
political agenda. We had multiple examples with the
Voice Referendum in this country. We now witness the
Trump fiasco in the US.

Misinformation gets out and will continue to get out
because voters condone it.

In this country, people of conscience need to fight it
with every fibre of their bodies.

There's little hope for those with buckets stuck to their
heads. In any case - thankfully, in this country, they are
a minority.

As for Trump not being a crook?

Well, the US courts have found that he indeed is!

Hi Paul,

Trump needed to have his crimes exposed through the
rule of law. Americans now need to see him face
prosecution on numerous fronts. They need to see
the evidence of it and see him face judgement and
conviction for his actions.

If that doesn't happen - it will remove faith in
the rule of law and this will not bode well for
the US. Americans need to know that even men as
powerful and influential as Trump will be made to
pay if they break the law.

Anything less will show that the justice system in
the US is beyond repair.

July 11th - is an important date. We shall have to
wait and see what the ruling will be.

Best recent example is the claim that the Washington Post's "circulation figures are good". Until she found out they weren't.
