"It also does not help to have certain groups , be they African, or Middle Eastern, regularly portrayed and publicized negatively in the media."

Or by the statistics. The media (well some of the media) portray them negatively because the statistics portray them negatively. And the statistics portray them negatively because they appear in those statistics much more often than most.

If the statistics show one group as being 70 times more likely to commit rape than another, its hardly the media's fault if that is highlighted. And its in the interest of the victims and future victims that it be highlighted.

But as we saw in Rotherham, some are more concerned to supress the statistics than protect the victims. But they were only white working class victims, so who cares? Much more important to pretend that the immigrants are an asset to the nation.

We have an immigrant seek to murder a preacher for preaching wrong-think, and the first thing the authorities want to do is suppress the evidence of the attack.

If this type of immigration can only be supported by hiding the facts, count me out.

dd,
"Do you get a choice? No way do you!"

I have a voice and a vote. In a democracy that's all you can hope for, and its a lot more than you get in most parts of the world. I know that you think all is illegitimate if your view isn't paramount, but that's not how our, or any civil society works.

Hi ttbn...

The part I don't get, you see these Western governments screwing their people over all over the globe but you'll champion democracy without any reservation, and you don't connect the dots that it was democracy that also gave us all the bs things you speak against as well.

Don't like the 'disinfo bill'?
Well 'democracy' has more in store for us.
Rally think it's going to end there?

Why not look at the flaws of the system you champion?

You seem to link the idea of a good wholesome society to Judeo-Christian values, but all religions have pro's and con's.
Why not 'take the good' and 'leave the bad' with a foundation in ethics?

Because without that, your 'claimed' higher values end up making you a traitor and a genocide supporter instead.

You carry on like Israel and Taiwan are more important than Australia itself.

See Randoms response 'Why do you hate coloured people?'.
This is what 'democracy' gave us.

They say it's the 'right of the people to decide for themselves'.
But only when it suits them -

Apparently 'democracy' doesn't allow citizens like mhaze the right to share his valid reasons that disagree with their 'set in stone' ideology.
These university indoctrinates will call you a racist and a hater just for suggesting that 'the people who live here actually get to have a say'.
They'd label mhaze a non-citizen and argue his opinions don't matter, because he's a racist and then once silenced, proclaim that university people hold a monopoly on intelligent thoughts and that everyone else is a moron.

So much for fecking democracy letting you have a say!

All you have to do is look at the U.S. to acknowledge that democracy isn't working for the people.
That democracy itself is screwing the people.
One side of government will fight tooth and nail to keep the free flow of people pouring in, no matter the impact on the existing populace.
Yet you ALL still champion democracy, without any reservations.

* This opinion is not to be considered as support for the CCP.

" Many forms of government have been tried and
will be tried in this world of sin and woe. No
one pretends that democracy is perfect or all wise.
Indeed it has been said that democracy is the worst
form of government except for all those other forms
that have been tried from time to time..."

Winston S. Churchill, 11 Nov. 1947.

Baz

All of the horrible things you refer to are part of wonderful multiculturalism. The only people to blame are our own politicians, who without our authority, lumbered us with the policy that has failed, bringing unnecessary dangers to the entire Western world.

Banjo Paterson,

I suppose you might as well be the one to bring up the unimaginative idea about getting our just desserts for colonising the nameless, neglected and useless continent that our ancestors turned into one of the richest countries in a world, where we do more than a fair share of feeding the world and doling out aid to to the poorest countries in the world.

Well, it really doesn't work, because we - or our politicians - have brought it all on ourselves, being the ones who actually have the say who comes here.

It's masochistic. But you lefties have decided that we objectors to multiculturalism and mass immigration blame the immigrants because they are black, yellow, brindle or have the wrong religion.

No. We blame the self-serving political class and people like you. We don't blame people taking the understandable path of finding a better place to live - except for the ones who, after being allowed in, want to make Australia like the hole they used to live in.

On your guess about about what I think about “replacement” populations being superior to the one being replaced, I have to say that you are a very dull boy:

. Politicians are replacing the Australian population, now, with mainly Third World, non-democratic people who are definitely not superior to the existing population.
. If you insist on comparing our replacement of a Stone Age people in 1788 with enlightened Western civilisation that started turning a useless, unused continent into what it is today: yes, the replacement was obviously superior to the locals - who, incidentally, soon took advantage of the arrival of modernity and Western civilisation.

mhaze,

I'm sorry that you have misunderstood the
point I was trying to make and felt the need to
explain statistics to me. I've dealt with data all
of my professional life.

My intention was
not to de-ride statistics merely to stress that they
should be handled with care - without demonizing every
immigrant from certain backgrounds because in the media
they all become criminals by extension.

Lets look at positive ways to try to rectify the problems
and challenges we face. And look at why crimes are
being committed by a small minority. Condemning is easy.
Trying to find solutions is more productive.

I think we live in the best country in the world.
But I continue to be positive that we can make it
even better.
