Astonishingly, those among the progressive class, who say they hate colonialism, support the colonialism of Third World mass immigration to the West. That is colonisation by people who hate us before they even get here; people who are changing our society for the very worst. Western society and culture is already in peril in places like the UK and Europe - 54% of London's population, for instance, is now made up of immigrants from Third World countries.

Westerners and our values and democracies are being replaced. War is not the only way to end a civilisation. Our own political classes are ending our civilisation for us, by design, or through stupidity.

Those people casually sloping along in life, “accepting” that the world is “changing”, thinking that the change is just a new fad, need to start thinking about the reality of this new colonialism.

Western society and culture already in peril?

Every generation has bustled with talk about the end
of the world or the loss of cultural identity. Many
have done so as if it's just around the corner.

Fear is an emotional reaction to particular changes and
challenges and it produces particular responses from
politicians, and communities alike.

Fear of crime, fear of terrorism and fear of change.

Tribes and kingdoms have waged wars of extinction against
each other for millennia. Culture has always been evolving.
If we were to travel back in time a century or two -
we would encounter a different experience of Western
civilization.

In our own backyard we have an increased presence of
religious and ethnic diversity. We've had many changes.
It is understandable that some people have become obsessed with
avoiding change and wanting to sustain our cultural
yester-year surroundings.

But it is wise to remember that the identity of modern
Australia is a rich mosaic of different cultures,
different generations, different life-styles, different
people.

As long as we continue to value things such as cultural
traditions, Western Civilization will not fade away -
instead it will continue to experience cultural
hybridization as it's done to date.

Foxy,
Since you are so confident to know these differences why not tell us which of these 'different' people are contributing the most & which are the ones using the most of what the contributors provide ? Which group do you think make the ideal migrants & which group do you think the indigenous find the most beneficial ?
In my book the Westerners of all races seem to be the ones taking everything for granted.

Foxy, your argument is incomplete because you do not consider the
arithmetic involved. It is nothing short of religious colonialism.
It is not done to join Australia but to bring Sharia Law and the Koran.
It is now clear that multiculturalism has failed in Europe and it will
fail here as well. The migrants such as your parents and yourself
merged successfully, but the moslems come with a different agenda.
Just watch the TV tonight and you will see it all in action in Paris.

Australian patriotism and national pride does not depend
on any one dominant image, but rather on a feeling of
belonging. Every Australian is an Australian, whether
or not they conform to the stereotypical image tha
prevails - the now outdated image of the "Ocker."

Most of us pride ourselves on what we are, which is a
rich mosaic of different cultures, different generations,
different life styles - different people.

Of course fears and downsides are with us and will continue
to be as things continue to change. There's increased
pressure of religious diversity, increased awareness of
moral and political obligations towards Indigenous
Australians, over changing relations with Asia and the
list goes on.

As I stated earlier fear is an emotional reaction to
particular changes and challenges and produces particular
responses. However, with long and short-term planning
for growth and change - we have done remarkably well in
the past. And we shall continue to do so with enough
inclusion, consultation, we shall overcome the problems
that arise.

You may think that being positive does not achieve much,
but staying positive can make a huge difference in
other people's lives.

Indyvidual and Baz,

Fair comments. Not much good arguing with contrary opinions, though. People are entitled to have whatever opinions they choose to have, and they are not going to change them, any more than we are going to change ours. Who cares, really? We are all lucky to still be able to say what we think. For how much longer, I wonder, with our political class selling us out with the mass, inappropriate importing of people so very unlike ourselves. Any comparisons with of immigrants of today with those of the past are laughable.
