I have yet to hear just one valid reason for a change.
All I hear is a lot of fluffy words saying how wonderful it would be.
All sounds a bit suss to me.
Somebody has organised a 'snow-job'?
What they are really after is power and control.
Everybody has a parliamentary representative.
Why cannot those who want to, or need to, bring their legitimate grievances to parliament that way?
They can.
They are just making excuses.

- Maybe it's the only way they can 'close the gap' and create 'equality of outcome' for indigenous people.

Maybe they think if they can throw enough money at it, it will stop them drinking, fighting, hating and living as they do because of it.

They refer to all the 'statistics' and the statistics say, indigenous lead shorter lives, are imprisoned at a greater percentage than other groups etc, but everyone's too pc to say 'that's because they don't look after their health' 'drink too much' and 'commit crimes at a greater rate than other groups'.

How does one close that gap?

If the Howard Government did the same thing, then what racial or heritage group has greater democratic rights than other Australian citizens? I like the idea of democratic equality regardless of your ancestry or the time you have been an Australian citizen.
