the sand, or buying into the narrow-minded false
summations from fanatical christian websites like the
Canberra Declaration it would be more beneficial to
be noisy emus and investigate with open hearts and
minds what the Voice to Parliament means for our country
and why it is important to vote YES.
This would make practical sense of what some are seeking
to demonize and politicize.
With that in mind there is a book now available by Charles
Prouse - "On the Voice to Parliament," where Kimberley
born Indigenous business leader Charles Prouse has spent
30 years working in Indigenous affairs across the
corporative, government, and non-profit sectors.
He's been asked many times how to fix "the Aboriginal
situation." He's also been asked about the Voice to Parliament.
It can be complex questions to answer but it can also be as
simple as listening, having compassion, and trusting that
together we can do this.
The book doesn't explain every single challenge and every
single solution - there are websites and factsheets for that.
The book gives us the human perspective.
The book is a breath of fresh air. It is a must-read conversation
of being informed about the YES vote and why the time has
come to start the journey for change.
Charles Prouse is a Nyikina man from the Kimberley,
WA, with as stated earlier 30 years experience in Indigenous affairs
across Australia. He holds a Masters in Public Administration
from Harvard University and a Bachelor of Science from the
University of WA.
The book is very readable.
