Lockdowns and border closures may calm those fears, but they will kill far more people than a virus ever could.

We do have sound COVID policies at the moment to protect those of us who do not want to get the virus.

There is only one element missing:

For those who are desperate enough to truly believe that prevention is worse than the virus itself, there should be the option of getting the virus instead.

They should be able to go on Covid-Camps to catch the virus.
"Camp" does not necessarily mean a literal camp, but any setting where they are totally isolated from all those who do not wish to catch the virus. This includes having their own health/medical facilities and/or arrangements.

Once they were cleared of the virus by the most rigorous medical criteria and whatever items they took to the camp are professionally disinfected, they can come back and be exempted from all personal restrictions.

Attending such camps must be absolutely voluntary and pressuring anyone to go on such a camp should be a serious criminal offense.

thanks Vladimir . Never before have we allowed cowardly Premiers, the lying liberal media and overpaid bureacrats to take our freedoms for so little benefit. First we were told it was to flatten the curve, then we were told masks are unhelpful, then we were allowed 10 at a funeral, then we were told tens of thousands of blm's protestors were immune from spreading Covid, then we banned Hydroxychloroquine for politcal reasons though many studies showed it could save lives, then we stopped allowing people to travel 30 kilometres to get to a hospital because the virus knows where the border is. As I have said from day one Morrison doing a deal with these power hungry dictators was his biggest mistake. And lets not forget where the harshest lockdowns have been have produced the most deaths. Wake up Australia.

Hi Runner,

I'm happy with what Premier Marshall here in SA and Premier Gutwein in Tasmania are doing, i.e. enforcing hard borders. The harder the restrictions now, the earlier an effective relaxation can begin. Give it a month or so with no (or a manageable number of) community transmissions.

In fact, the only premier who seems to be demanding an easing of border controls is Gladys Berejiklian. I like her, but she may be the odd person out here. Once she gets community transmissions down, ......

Premiers have responsibilities to do the best - as they see it - to protect the interests of the people in their States. I wish I could vote for all of them, even Gladys ;)

'What is it now, 6.3 + million cases and 191000 deaths?'

yeah certainly does not help when you have incompetent democrat mayors sending covid into nursing homes, fools calling Trump racist for stopping flights from China and racist/marxist democrat mayors cheering on looting, murder and dummy spitting. And lets not forget the invitations to Chinese new year parties by leading democrats. Trump has done remarkably well taking all that in especially seen the 'experts' said 2 million deaths. Oh well the lying liberal left media will need to find another way to cheat when it comes to the election. Fools or those who are deceitful will continue with the Russia hoax, sorry Ukraine hoax, sorry the China virus, sorry the Trump virus. That is what tds does to people.

Runner,

I think - correct me if I'm wrong - that mayors and governors of Democratic states were transferring people to old people's homes way back in about March and April. But not for a few months now. It's now September. Are they still doing that ? Yes ? No ?

So, overall, in any particular country, who is responsible for major policy ? Here, it would be the Prime Minister in consultation with the premiers and Chief Ministers. In the US, it is probably the President, in consultation with the Governors, who in turn, have to consult the mayors of major cities. Strangely, in both countries, the lower level of government seems to be tougher than the so-called higher levels.

So responsibility for those 190,000 deaths in the US would ultimately rest with, perhaps, the President ? Who says that it will all go away, like magic, it'll all go away. It's no worse than the flu. Anyway, it'll all be gone by Easter. And anyway, just take some disinfectant (it works to kills germs, after all ?) or shine a strong light up your arse. Anyway, don't believe those health 'experts', what do they know ?

And anyway, we'll have a vaccine before November 3rd, come hell or bloody high water, by Christ we will, even with shortened testing, the election is hanging on it.

I love a circus ! When's your act, Runner ? Are you the clown that gets a pie in the face ? Or a backward kick up the arse from a bloke in a mule's suit ? So funny !
