Diver,
Good luck with that. Wow, I just saw another flying pig - and it was carrying an Australian Flag (complete with all six stars too)! Oh, and there goes Mother Hen and her clutch - heading for New Zealand, I suspect. Burning our Aussie flag was such a nice touch - really how to win friends and influence people. Credibility in one fell swoop - straight down the gurgler, and rightly so. Reconciliation with large dollops of delusions of grandeur? Mmmm. We are one country, one Nation, and it's time some people learned that simple truth. We love freedom and equality, and I'm glad to say we're not looking for a new true-blue Aussie (if that's still the right name?) King - thanks all the same, but we respectfully decline. Diver Dan,
As you write, " ...The end-game for the “Nuevo-Aboriginal Rights” movement, is to make successful claim for total sovereign rights of Australia." It took me some time to decipher this and its implications, but if I understand you correctly, if Nuevo-Aboriginal people do not get full ownership of all of Australia, pretty much now, and to hell with the other 22 million "foreign castigators", then they will give up the game. This is their end-game. This or nothing. Is that it ? My wife came from a community which had control of twelve thousand acres of beautiful land at the mouth of the Murray, and the people there now do nothing with it but run a couple of hundred head of cattle. We used to joke that a thousand Vietnamese would turn every acre of it into something within a year, gardens, fish-farms, orchards, boutique crops, grain crops, fodder-crops, duck-farms, etc. But the local Aboriginal people have successfully destroyed its economic base and now contentedly live on welfare. So much for self-determination and land rights. And you want the rest of Australia ? As Saltpetre observed, he had just seen a flying pig. I haven't seen one yet but I live in hope: it's more likely to happen than the fairy godmother granting your wish. Cheers, Joe Posted by Loudmouth, Sunday, 29 January 2012 4:13:30 PM

One Under God:
...I note on this mornings news, Mark McMurtrie has jumped the good ship “SS tent embassy”. What he epitomises by this move, is the typical trend of the able individual with ability and motivation, to move away from the base line of the Aboriginal main-stream struggle. ...The same trend amongst the intellectually able, to escape the social horrors and dysfunctional social living conditions of Aboriginal communities, is likewise common among the young educated: Education appears only to enhance a separation from communities, rather then assisting in the overall transition of Aboriginal society into the broader community, as one would expect. ...Those particular trends are a very tragic aspect of Aboriginal Politics. But, I would hope Mark McMurtrie will continue to the end, the defence of the now famous Australia day tent embassy demonstration, and not roll over to pressures, which will no doubt be applied by way of "incentive”, tich, tich, in order to silence him. ...By offering a genuine reconciliation with “Traditional Australians” established under terms and conditions of a Native Sovereignty, Indigenous people will be free to establish a rule that is acceptable to themselves, which are inclusive of rights of the traditional White Australians, through a memorandum of understanding, or peace accord, (Constitution), between those two groups considered historical and traditional antagonists, and allow peace to establish, and a “Genuine” reconciliation to be achieved, once and for all!
